"My dream stay. I knew I wanted to stay here and after the first night in Reykjavik, I was hoping that it would live up to my expectations. It completely did. I know how important your accommodations can be and how they can make or break a trip. Skalakot makes the trip. My husband (who typically says he doesn’t care where we stay) completely agrees. The staff were utterly amazing from the time we stepped inside. They personally show you to your room and bring your luggage, but they never feel intimidating (iykyk). The breakfast was great (get there early) and you can order lattes and such at the bar. They made sure to make us dinner reservations after we arrived and had time to clean up from the golden circle. The dinner was well worth it and the atmosphere is incredible. I had booked us the 1 hour horseback riding tour (which my husband was very skeptical of since we don’t ride horses). He LOVED it. Said it was his favorite thing that we did the whole week. The trainer was so sweet and made the it very memorable. HUGE PLUS it is right down the road from an incredible bakery (Faxi). We went twice. It’s also just a great location to the waterfalls and Vik. I will stay here again!! Over and over!!"
