"Lovely staff, great breakfast though they cooked wrong order they were so apologetic we almost felt bad. Checkin staff were great. The hotel is in ancient buildings so don't expect noise insulation, double glazing etc. The room was clean, large and comfortable. Bathroom was bit cramped but clean and good water pressure. Our room was one first floor over hotel entrance. Might have been noisy earlier but we were out till midnight and had no issues. Lovely location in olde worlde town centre....

"Why do hotel designers think it is OK to have an ensuite bathroom with no door? A curtain is not an adequate replacement for a door. This was a big issue for us. Also the only seating in our room was 1 dining chair and 1 stool when there was room for something more comfortable. I don't want to have to sit on the bed, particularly at the price this hotel came in at. Everything else was very good."

The location is stunning with a large beer garden. The staff are friendly and helpful. They arranged a 6 seater taxi for us into St Ives which is a beautiful town which happened to have a jazz an and blues festival and a food market. "I couldn’t have wished for anything better! A spontaneous stay while I attended a course at the Curwen Print Study Centre near by (which is also excellent). The room was large yet super cosy, beautifully decorated with attention to detail. Lots of soft cushions, blankets and fluffy rugs. Everything was clean and tidy, and warm which was very much appreciated. The pub was so welcoming - staff and punters! And the food was home cooked, plentiful and very tasty. Definitely recommend the food 😀"

"Staff friendly and attentive when we arrived and nice room. However, for the price improvements need to be made: - main issue -we booked a room advertised to be for 3 adults and stated was a king size bed and a single bed. We had a call on the day of check in to check it was 3 adults (as opposed to 2 adults and a child) which we confirmed was the case. When we came to check in, the "single bed" was actually a fold up camp bed with a very thin mattress which was not fit for purpose for an adult....
