"We stayed at Arenal Manoa Resort & Hot Springs in a Chato Suite and overall had a wonderful experience. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by lush greenery with views of Arenal volcano (when the clouds clear). The resort feels peaceful and spacious, which adds to its relaxed atmosphere, and it’s only a 5-minute Uber ride into town, which was inexpensive, safe, and reliable. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a private pool and terrace waking up to that view was a real highlight. The hotel’s hot springs were another standout: well maintained and perfect for relaxing after a day out. We spent plenty of time there enjoying drinks and the sushi, which was particularly good. The staff were excellent throughout friendly, professional, and very helpful making us feel genuinely welcome. The food overall was good; breakfast in the room was nice, though not as hot by the time it arrived. In the main restaurant, the egg station could improve by providing separate equipment for vegetarian cooking. Also, the toasters didn’t work well and heated bread very slowly small issues that could be easily fixed. The resort is quite spread out, so expect some walking (or use the shuttle), and Wi-Fi can be inconsistent, but neither detracted much from the stay. Overall, we loved our time here and would recommend it. It’s a great mix of comfort, nature, and relaxation exactly what you’d want from Costa Rica. Tip: the Chato Suite is well worth it. "

The staff were great and super helpful—always ready to assist with a smile. I especially loved the facilities; everything was top-notch and added so much to the stay. Will definitely be back!"

"Our stay at Hotel Lavas Tacotal was overall a really enjoyable experience, with a few areas that could be improved. The highlights were definitely the incredible views of Arenal Volcano — waking up to that scenery was unreal. The room itself was massive, very clean, and comfortable, which made it easy to relax after long days exploring. The pool area was also great and well-maintained, and the staff throughout the property were consistently friendly and helpful. That said, there were a couple downsides. There were quite a few bugs inside the room, although that’s somewhat expected given the jungle setting. The biggest letdown, however, was the restaurant. The included breakfast buffet was decent but nothing special. We also had lunch there one day, and unfortunately it was a poor experience. The restaurant didn’t open until 2:00 PM, and despite being seated right away, we weren’t greeted until about 2:15. We ordered tacos and a burger — the burger was honestly the worst I’ve ever had, with a bun that was rock hard and almost inedible. When I mentioned it to the waiter, the replacement bun wasn’t any better. My wife’s tacos were also very dry and lacked flavor. Overall, this stay would easily be a 5/5 with better food and restaurant service, but because of that experience, I’d rate it a solid 4/5."

"The hotel is clean , staff is nice, it is close to arenal national park, Tabacon hot springs, awuwaki (sushi), Raman restaurant, el novillo restaurant, the problem is we are given the room #1 which happens to be room with large gap between the door and its frame on both the top and bottom, we see bugs inside the room. After talking with the front desk, we were able to switch to a different room , room 14 which is clean with great view of the arenal, I would recommend the hotel but not room #1"
