Shinjuku Washington Hotel Main
Nice neighborhood, close to the major Shinjuku station. The city hall observatory just two blocks away. You can get a nice view of the city from the observatory. Lots of good restaurants inside the property.

Hotel Metropolitan Edmont Tokyo
A lovely hotel in a quiet area, yet only about 20 minutes by train or metro to reach the main sights. As a walker, I found it took around 45 minutes to an hour to get to Ginza. Shinagawa Prince Hotel
Rooms comfortable, but very dated, and generally quite shabby. Hotel is split across numerous different annexed levels. Had to skip the breakfast service due to huge queue/ inadequate provision for number of guests. This hotel needs renovation.
