1 Bed in Falmouth (oc-theco)

This striking timber-clad, one-bedroom apartment just three miles from the maritime port of Falmouth is perfect for a couple looking for a romantic Cornish getaway surrounded by lush countryside. Enjoy the mile-long walk through the country lanes to the village of Ponsanooth or visit Kennall Vale Nature Reserve (1.5 miles), where you can follow the trail through the densely wooded valley by the river.

A charming property set on one level on the ground floor and reached by an external spiral staircase with 16 steps leading up to a glazed gable-ended lounge and large glass doors overlooking the countryside. The lounge has a comfortable sofa to snuggle on while you watch your favourite film on the Smart TV. There is also a cosy reading chair for some quiet time. The galley kitchen has everything you need to cook romantic meals from fresh local ingredients and enjoy them at the dining table under a window. When it is time to retire, there is a double bed waiting. A shower room completes the offer for this bijou property. Outside, you’ll find the garden area offers decking, a BBQ and bistro table and chairs, making it a lovely spot to dine alfresco on fine evenings and to spot the owner’s friendly dog, Bella!

Based around a thriving harbour Falmouth (6 miles) is the gateway to the beautiful Fal River, which runs through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and from where you can follow the South West Coast Path. A choice of four beaches, Castle Beach, Gyllyngvase Beach, Swanpool Beach and Maenporth Beach, are all less than 8 miles away, providing opportunities for surfing, windsurfing, sailing, snorkelling, and diving. Alternatively, head to the sub-tropical paradise of Trebah Gardens (9 miles) or step back in time at Pendennis Castle (7 miles), one of Henry VIII’s finest seaside fortresses.
