Top Truro Hotel Reviews

County Arms
10/10 Excellent
"All good"

Donnington Guest House
6/10 Okay
"The staff are lovely and the room was cleaned daily, which was appreciated. However, the room itself is very dated.
The same applies to the bathroom, it appeared clean, but is clearly in need of refurbishment.
There was visible mould on the ceiling and around the tiles, which felt more like a maintenance issue than something related to recent storm damage.
After reading earlier reviews from last year, it’s a shame that some of these issues still haven’t been addressed. I was told a painter is due in, so the guesthouse is aware, but it didn’t really change my experience during the stay.
The shower pressure was quite low, and the temperature was inconsistent. It would switch from warm to very hot without any adjustment, which made it difficult to use.
On the positive side, the bed was very comfortable and I slept well. The heating is on a timer rather than user-controlled, but it worked fine during my stay.
Overall, it was reasonably priced, but the property would benefit from some updates and general maintenance."

Hotel VARA

The Rosevine

"Clean room with everything I needed. Furniture in the room could do with an upgrade, some of it looked quite tired and old although this didn’t affect the stay. Nice to be able to book and have exclusive use of the pool"

The Lugger Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful stay at the Lugger. My Dad is terminally ill and frail. He spent many summers as a boy in Portloe and one of his final wishes was to return for a holiday. Four of us from 3 generations went to stay.
From the moment i spoke to the team there about the booking to the moment we left they couldn’t have been more accommodating or understanding. Every member of staff went the extra mile to help him.
It was a fantastic weekend to relax and enjoy the hotel and the area with several great meals, good wine and fantastic breakfasts.
It all made my dad so happy and created great memories for us all. I highly recommend and just want to say thank you. "
