"The hotel is in an excellent location with a unique and attractive layout. The room was spacious and well decorated. The staff was incredibly helpful and eager to please as befits a luxury hotel. However, I was disappointed in several aspects. First, it is inexcusable not to have air conditioning in a luxury hotel where the daytime temperatures were in the high seventies. Second, the bed mattress was soft and deformed leading to poor sleep. Third, the rain shower head provided so little water pressure that it took several minutes just to wash shampoo from our hair. The coffee maker in the room was also an ancient and substandard one that made lukewarm and poor tasting espresso. I also find it disappointing that a luxury hotel did not have a water bottle filling station. Finally, when we sought to sit by the outside fireplace, it was broken and unable to light. All in all, this hotel has potential. But for the cost they are asking, this was definitely a substandard experience even at half the price."

"Stunning hotel in superb waterside location. Only stayed 1 night sadly. One of the comfiest beds Ive ever slept on. Very nicely furnished bedrooms. Everywhere spotless. Lovely evening meal in Dolittle restaurant. My visit coincided with very hot weather - beautiful electric blue skies and a sublime view. Fan in room. Didnt visit the pool or spa but from above the infinity pool looked lovely (if relatively small). There are a few short trails you can do around the hotel. Staff were friendly, including Joao who checked me in. No faults at all - this very much falls into the 'treat yourself' category cost wise but I shall definitely return."
