Very well equipped, best we have stayed at. Cozy, clean and tidy. Bed a little narrow and only a limited view from the unit. Very much in the country which we enjoyed.
We had a very enjoyable stay in Tethera which had all we needed for a comfortable time. The property has a secure garden which our dog loved - the only slight niggle is that there’s no direct access from the property to the garden. This wasn’t mentioned in the description and we may not have chosen to stay there if we’d been aware. Otherwise everything else was fine.
The cottage is stylishly presented and very comfortable. It has all the amenities needed, including a Sky TV package - perfect for my sports loving husband. It has an enclosed garden in which our dog could safely play and garden seating to enjoy the sunny weather.
The cottage is light and the outlook from the sitting room across the garden and beyond is green. Step outside the property and the surrounding countryside views to the distant mountains are beautiful.
The owner, Emma, is extremely helpful and friendly.
Whilst there are other holiday lets on the property, the cottage felt very private and quiet.
We’ve just spent Christmas in this beautiful cosy cottage. It was everything we hoped it would be and more. The accommodation is beautiful & very well equipped. Country walks, stunning views and switching off from the world. Perfect, Would definitely return.
Myself, my partner and our dog stayed here for the week recently. We absolutely loved Tethera cottage and can’t recommend it enough. The cottage was spotless and has everything that you need. The location is beautiful with stunning views on your doorstep. The cottage is local to lots of different villages so we had some fab days out but equally enjoyed time relaxing in our cottage. We also loved the games room where we had games of ping pong and pool. Emma was so attentive and responded to any questions I had promptly. Our dog Mindy was so content and made to feel very welcome too. We can’t wait to come back soon!
Tethera is a wonderful hidden gem set amongst stunning countryside with the Mountains of the Southern Lakes in the background.
I contacted Emma before our booking and she was extremely responsive and very helpful. We wanted to extend our trip whilst touring around Cumbria and Coal Yeat seemed the perfect place to finish.
On arrival we were treated to a bottle of red wine, homemade cake, two eggs donated from the ‘girls’, bread and milk! The cottage is gorgeous and is an extremely high standard - very comfortable, extremely clean and cosy! Perfect in every way!
We are already talking when we are returning as we enjoyed our stay so much and I can not recommend it enough.
Thank you Emma from all three of us.
Great property with fantastic views over the southern fells…. Great base for a week of walking. Back garden really great for the dog….. highly recommended
We so enjoyed staying at Tethera, very clean (covid cleaning and a check list to see what they had cleaned was there for us to see) It was a cosy, comfortable cottage and was well equip. We like to cook some evening meals and the cooking equipment and utensils were as good as home. They even had the knife sharpener come and sharpen all the knives for all the cottages! We had a problem with the kitchen tap halfway through the week which was dealt with instantly. Emma was always available and was a friendly and knowlegable host.
Immaculate, comfortable and well equipped cottage. Enjoyed our stay. One very tiny negative comment is that we found the bed too small. Otherwise perfection.
Very beautiful and quiet cottage, we will be back soon.
beautiful cottage, in a beautiful area, quiet and peaceful, the fireplace makes dreams come true :)) ,,,, fresh eggs for breakfast from lovely girls ;)). Thank you Emma and see you soon
The cottage contained everything that we needed and more. It was spacious and comfortable with thoughtful touches eg. welcome pack including delicious cake. It is set in a beautiful location and very peaceful. Ulverston is only a few miles away with plenty of choices of pubs and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay.

Amazing remote cottage break
We absolutely loved our stay at Tethera. Such a cosy cottage just big enough for 2 adults and our dog. It’s like a home away from home. Great base for going out and exploring the lakes and such a nice place to come back to after a day of explaining.
I would highly recommend staying here, we absolutely loved it and will definitely be back.
