Uptown Historic District Holidays

I had a great stay at the Chateau Hotel. The staff were very friendly; the hotel was clean and located in the middle of all the action. The only thing I'd advise is to be careful when choosing the room on Expedia. On Expedia the room I chose showed it came with a balcony. However, I was told differently when I arrived. I was given a room with no balcony, and the window was useless because it was facing the courtyard on the ground floor. Therefore, the room felt a bit claustrophobic, to me. Other than that, I had a pleasant stay. I did not experience any ghostly encounters, if anyone is concerned/curious about that. Staying in any hotel in the French Quarter, you run that risk.

During our recent stay, my family and I encountered several significant issues. The air conditioning unit was inoperable, leading to an uncomfortably high indoor temperature that surpassed the external temperature. Furthermore, all windows were sealed, preventing any natural ventilation. We also noted the presence of multiple ants and two sizable cockroaches within the room. Upon reviewing previous guest feedback, it appears that similar concerns were raised two months prior, at which time assurances of corrective action were provided. Regrettably, these issues remained unresolved during our visit. Despite these challenges, the property's location is highly advantageous, offering convenient access to the canal and Bourbon Street, both within a 7 to 10-minute walk. Additionally, a hop-on hop-off tour stop is located just a 5-minute walk away. The interior decor and appliances were modern and well-maintained. Should these issues be addressed and resolved, I would certainly consider returning to this establishment.
