"We are tennis fanatics so it was lovely to have a private court in good condition in the grounds. Played every day. Nice pool to cool off. Villa was spotless and spacious and all the appliances worked. Be aware that towels are not provided. Dealing with Vrbo was not easy. We needed to talk to them about a French legal requirement for liability insurance and the only contact number I could find was a USA premium rate line. Cost me £35 for a 7 minute conversation and they failed to call me back...

"Property was lovely, quiet and well appointed. There is one very large bedroom and two medium sized bedrooms. All have adjoining bathrooms. As Americans we found the lack of doors on the bathrooms a little odd, but manageable. Only other consideration is that property owner/manager doesn’t speak any English and hasn’t had any instructions written in English. So, if a non French speaker, bring a translator app."

"We stayed for a week at the end of September so we could go to a friend's wedding. The weather was beautiful around 28degrees although chilly some nights. We swam in the clean heated pool and managed to swim in the nearby Mediterranean which was wonderful. The villa has very good facilities and the owners are friendly and very helpful. "Nice little garden with pool. Two of the bedrooms have access to a large balcony with stunning sea views. Plenty of kitchen equipment. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The only negatives were the very slow WiFi and the low quality bed linen (polyester not cotton) Would recommend but ask if they can improve on the above."

"We have spent 2 weeks in February. The house is very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. It has to be particularly nice during the summer. In the winter time it's a little bit cold, but the owner has provided additional heating. The neighborhood is rather calm, and Grimaud village really wonderful. During the winter neighbors of the house below heat heavily with their fireplace which is quite annoying. Difficult to open the windows to ventilate. It is the reason why I have not put 5 stars...

"Olivier was extremely helpful and a great host. He was there on arrival and everything we needed from the villa was there. A short walk to a local campsite where we could get bits and pieces and a longer walk straight down to the coast. We were given assistance with bus timetables and finding our way round as well as reccomendations on where to eat and booking resturants for us. L'ancre Blue was amazing especially for sea food."

The property itself is in a lovely quiet neighbourhood with lots of amenities in the village but also short distance in the car to bigger shops. "We had a wonderful vacation at Annes and Thierrys house. We were two families (4 adults and 4 kids). Everything was very clean, spacious and modern. Air condition in every room. We loved especially the big kitchen/living room with everything you need to cook for 8 persons, also the big fridge and freezer. Anne and Thierry are very nice hosts, showed us the house at arrival and we could contact them whenever we had a question. We can recommrend a stay at the house very much!"

"Have never had great experience of UK Best Western's when travelling for work so I usually avoid but had researched Hotel Matisse on hotels.com ahead of my trip. By the time I arrived in Sainte-Maxime I could not get my data or any city WiFi signal so I approached Hotel Matisse and asked to buy a coffee and use their WiFi whilst I sorted accommodation. The staff were so very kind and so very helpful I decided to book and had a wonderful experience. Exceptionally clean, bathrobe, slippers, coffee machine, cold water, fridge, toiletries and other useful items. Good indoor/outdoor seating areas. Excellent range of breakfast items. I plan other trips to Sainte-Maxime later this year and would look to stay at Hotel Matisse again. So very handy for the city/shops/beach and boat trips/buses to St Tropez. "
