The apartment is just as described and pictured. The views of the lake are beautiful, especially at sunset. The unit was clean and well maintained. The beds are very comfortable. We had 4 adults and one 8 yr old. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cookware. Marco was a great host and offered recommendations for eating and sightseeing. We could not have been more satisfied with the unit. We would recommend without hesitation.

Breathtaking Views

Marco and his wife are fabulous hosts! We were greeted warmly and with chilled presence and homemade bread. It is a short distance to Varenna and you can walk the greenway into town. The apartment was great with a fabulous sunroom and outdoor patio overlooking Lake Como. We would definitely stay here again.

Paradise Stay

The apartment was amazing! AC worked well and the host Marco was wonderful. Plenty of room for 3 of us and the patio was great to lounge on and look at the beautiful lake and mountains. It is on a busy road so you can’t walk to town. Taxis are really expensive ( I don’t recommend using Donicar, he charged us 30 to go to town 2 km away), rent a car if you can there is a parking garage in Varenna.The little beach was the highlight of our stay. We went swimming every day and the water was so clean and refreshing!Thanks Marco for a lovely stay!

Relaxing

The view from the terrace is amazing! A wonderful and relaxing place to spend time on Lake Como. The location is very convenient to the ferry in Varenna. You can’t walk easily to Varenna but the drive is quick and parking was easy in the garage. If you are looking for beauty and relaxation, this is the perfect place.

Absolutely phenomenal

We had the best of time. Stayed for a month. The owners Marco and Daniela could not have been nicer. The home is a dream. We took morning dips every morning in the lake and walked 2 miles into Varenna every morning for coffee (and back).

Beautiful Property

We stayed for 3 nights and wished it was a week. The apartment was as comfortable and the view as beautiful as advertised. We did not have a car But it was easy to get to and from the lovely town of Varenna by cab. Marco was a very gracious and helpful host I highly recommend this property.

Stunning views of Lago da Como

We had a wonderful 3 days in Marco and Daniella's apartment. The view across to Bellagio and Menaggio was stunning throughout the day. Made use of the private path to the beach for a daily swim and a lovely half hour walk into Varenna. The accommodation was great and as described and the hospitality topped things off. A great place to get through jet lag at the start of our Italian holiday.

Excellent stay near Varenna

My family of four adults (two couples) found this apartment absolutely excellent. The apartment is as pictured and is very clean, modern, and creatively decorated. The view from the large enclosed area off the kitchen is exquisite. Waking to see snow on the mountain tops was a blessing. The patio was restful with lounge chairs and seating. There is a private beach which provided nice opportunity to appreciate Lake Como. The owners/management were exceptionally helpful and pleasant. Having arrived on Easter Sunday, the owners offered us a delicious cake, prosecco, and other treats to get us started on our four-day stay. Fiumelatte and Varenna could work toward extending the walkways, as the walk from the apartment to Varenna is a pleasant mile-and-a-half walk, but very close to traffic at times. Great to have a taxi service available. Marco Barili and Rita were great taxi drivers. Many nice Varenna restaurants, but we especially liked Hosteria del Platano in Fiumelatte. Thanks to the hosts of this beautiful apartment.

Fantastic location on Lake Como

Lovely apartment with all the necessities to make an enjpyable stay. Marco and Daniella were perfect hosts and left us a welcome bottle of Proseco and cookies. They were available for our many questions. BUT THE VIEW WAS EXCEPTIONAL. From snow capped moutains to the lake we had a panoramic view one that we will never forget. The town is quaint and ferries to other towns were easy. We highly recommend this apartment and location. Thank you again Marco and Daniella.

Beautiful place

We loved the property. Absolutely beautiful views of the lake. Very clean and well equipped kitchen. It is a bit of a walk to get to town with some parts of the road being very narrow. We used the same taxi driver each day for 10-15 euro. Lovely hosts who live on site and very responsive to any questions or requests. Only suggestion would be to have better beds- they were quite soft and not very comfortable. We would love to come back when the weather is better to be able to enjoy the beautiful outdoor area.

Fiumelatte is a Gem

An enchanting stay - learned to appreciate the "quieter" side of Lake Como. Small Fiumelatte is just minutes from several slightly larger villages plus the somewhat larger Varenna and situated on a lovely stretch of the lake. Our rental was simply beautiful with its own access to the water and a private, nicely landscaped garden space. Convenient ferry from Varenna opened up the experience to Menaggio and Tremezzo where we visited Villa Carlotta and Villa Monestero. Bellagio is also accessible by ferry. Our host was gracious and responsive. In all, everything exceeded our expectations.

Beautiful, Comfortable & So Hospitable

A phenomenal stay at this lovely, well appointed apartment. We were a group of 3 adults staying for a week. The terrace is such a special living room overlooking Lake Como, we will always remember our evenings gathered at sunset. We loved the beach access and swimming was so welcome after warm days on ferries & tours around the area. Giacomo was such a responsive host while Marco was away on holiday. He made great restaurant recommendations, answered various questions, and went out of his way to help, including Prosecco and cookies/goodies on our arrival. The larger beds were very comfortable, the kitchen very well stocked and functional, the laundry great, the bathrooms sparkling clean and spacious. We could have used a citronella candle but repellent was a help. Water shoes helped with the rocky beach and we used caution on the slippery algae. Varenna is such a great hub for seeing so many towns by ferry; we enjoyed villa tours, shopping in Bellagio, restaurants, private boat rides, a cooking class and more. Only drawback is Fiumelatte was 20-plus minute walk to town and half hour to the ferry on a busy road with no sidewalk so it’s treacherous. We made friends with the taxi drivers Nellie & Lorenza but arranging times for pickups ahead of time was key to reserving them. We also recommend Patrizia with Cesarina cooking class in Bellano, amazing experience with a home chef. All in all, a great experience and value full of unforgettable vistas, relaxation, and memory making.

Our family of five enjoyed our short time in this beautiful rental. The location is great, the views are fantastic, and the apartment amenities are wonderful. The hosts were very responsive and helpful, and have obviously put a lot of thought and work into the place. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay on Lake Como.

Absolutely Incredible

My wife, myself, and our two kids stayed here (2.5yrs old and the other 11mo.). We absolutely enjoyed our time here! It is perfect for families because of the yard, plenty of space, and safe and easy access to swimming. Marco and his family were incredibly kind and friendly throughout the whole process. They even helped us arrange a babysitter so my wife and I could have a date night. Being able to find and stay in a places like this is why I love VRBO and similar sites. The only drawback of this house is that it’s a 30-40min walk from Varenna (a walk on an Italian street where much of it does not have sidewalks). We had a car and were able to find parking in Varenna’s parking garage on the south side of town (even in the busy time of July, but we made sure to arrive early before 9am). Overall I highly recommend this place.

Lake Como Getaway – Unforgettable Experience!

We honestly can’t say enough good things about the experience. From the moment we arrived our host Marco and his wife were exceptionally welcoming. The property offered breathtaking views of Lake Como from almost every room. It was beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, and felt like a true home away from home. The outdoor garden / balcony provided a space for relaxation and enjoying the serene surroundings. All communication was prompt and helpful throughout our stay and the parking for our car was perfect.Overall, this was the best experience during our trip to Italy. It was the perfect stay, after driving around Switzerland for several weeks, this apartment offered everything that you just dont get staying in town (Varenna), with onsite parking in a large garage, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, full kitchen and sunroom. The terrace was my favorite feature. With views straight across the lake to Bellagio, Menaggio and Varenna. We stayed 4 nights and loved our time here.

Don’t Miss

This was one of the nicest properties we have ever stayed in. The view itself is worth every dollar. During our stay, we had a car and were able to explore the nearby towns. I would definitely recommend doing so, because multiple people were seen dragging their luggage throughout town while trying to get to their stays. You don’t want to be on the narrow roadside with your bags. Marco was the most hospitable host that we have encountered yet. This stay was for our wedding, and not only did he communicate with our wedding planner to help with the florist, make up artist, photographer and chef, but on the wedding day itself, he and his wife stopped by to drop of flowers. Overall, he helped make our wedding day all that we could have ever asked for and more. I 1000% recommend this place and hopefully will be returning soon

Short but sweet!

Our flight got delayed so we only made it for 1 of our 3 nights, but we made the most of it. Beautiful villa. Only complaint is little privacy. Owners live upstairs and are always right out and about. But they could not be kinder.

Top Notch!

This was the perfect property for my sisters and me to enjoy a week in the Lake Como area. It was roomy and well-appointed and very clean. The outdoor space and the view were magical. Though the owners were living upstairs, it felt like we had this house all to ourselves. When home we spent a lot of time in the sunroom that is all windows on two sides. Ate breakfast there each morning and played Scrabble. The kitchen has everything one would need and we made dinner on two nights rather than going out.We rented a car rather than taking the train to Varenna from Milan and were glad we did. It allowed us to go to the grocery store in Mondello and get food and wine for the week. It also was convenient for traveling to Varenna and other towns. Parking in some places is challenging, but we always seemed to luck out. The property has a garage for a car, so that was convenient. Small car is best.Note - the property is in the hamlet of Fiumelatte within Varenna. The center of Varenna (with ferries and restaurants) is about 3km down the road. We liked being a little outside the busy part of town. We walked the Greenway trail one day into town, but mostly drove the car. We don't know how easy or hard it is to get a taxi.Marco and Daniela were great and greeted us upon arrival with champagne. They provided maps and information that really helped get us started on our adventure.

First Time in Lake Como
