Patricia & Jean-Jacques open the doors of an elegant, atypical villa of character in the "Anglo-Norman" style dating from the beginning of the 20th century, nestled in a quiet area on the edge of a lane, in the heart of the peaceful & charming typical village of Vauban, the only one in France able to be honored with such a surname (bequeathed in the 18th century by Antoine Le Prestre de Vauban, administrator of the place, nephew of the illustrious Marshal of France, military architect engineer, Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban), a picturesque little preserved village with a 12th century Romanesque church (listed as a Historic Monument) & a city stadium (located opposite the gîte). Absolute tranquility, nestled in the heart of the gentle, unspoiled Brionnais countryside, in the hollow of a vast, hilly plateau of sublime wooded bocage dotted with ponds and rivers teeming with fish (home in season to the famous local Charolais cows), a stone's throw from a beautiful wild forest. Magnificent rural and natural setting all around, partly protected in ZNIEFF for its rich flora and fauna. Beautiful landscaped setting and site, 100% peaceful and relaxing.
