About this property
Ca' del Monastero 2 Collection
Ca’ Del Monastero 2
Introducing the very special Ca’ Del Monastero - a fine antique residence comprising 9 superbly restored apartments of varying size (including Ca’ Del Monastero 2 - see its dedicated section below) situated in what was once the monastery connected to the ancient Church of San Zan Degolà (one of the oldest in Venice), moments from the Grand Canal in the district of Santa Croce
Enjoying an atmosphere of calm serenity in what must surely be one of Venice’s most evocative and unspoilt neighbourhoods - indeed a step back in time - the Ca’ Del Monastero apartments offer spacious and beautifully presented accommodation for small and medium size parties or up to 36 guests if taken together.*
No expense has been spared in its recent remodelling…
Carefully co-ordinated contemporary furnishings and soft neutral colours meld seamlessly against a traditional backdrop of polished red marble and/or traditional Venetian terrazzo flooring, while stylish high-spec fittings and attractive finishes, such as textured resin walls and luxurious feature wall coverings, give a fresh and fashionable twist to the building’s ancient framework.
Enhanced by a range of up-to-date facilities as demanded by today’s savvy traveller (including air-conditioning**, Wi-Fi internet connection and communal utility facilities), the Ca’ Del Monastero apartments are perfectly placed for communing with the true and heart and soul of the city and for visiting all that Venice has to offer while providing all the comforts of modern city living.
Ca’ Del Monastero 2
A spacious and impressive 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment to the rear of the residence with views across to the ‘Salizada’ to the pretty walled rear garden of Venice’s Natural History Museum at the Fondaco Dei Turchi.
Sleeping four and situated on the 1st floor with lift, the apartment comprises an elegant main open-plan sitting/dining room with feature fireplace (not in use), a large L-shaped sofa, a dining suite seating four and offering plenty of room to chill out after a busy day about town.
Just to the side lies the fully-fitted and very nicely finished kitchen/breakfast room with a table for two - ideal for keeping your chef company as they cook up a feast with ingredients from the Rialto - while further along sits a twin bedroom with two single beds (1 a ‘pull-out’) and an up-to-date bathroom with large shower opposite.
The gorgeous master bedroom lies at the apartment’s farthest end - a delightful room with double bed, smartly decked out in soothing colours and with a separate modern bathroom again with large shower.
*Are you a part of a larger group who’d like to stay close together but in separate apartments? We offer seven other apartments within this residence: Ca’ Del Monastero 1,Ca’ Del Monastero 3, Ca’ Del Monastero 4, Ca’ Del Monastero 5, Ca’ Del Monastero 6, Ca’ Del Monastero 7, Ca’ Del Monastero 8, Ca' Del monastero 9.
Our Comment
Style, creature comforts and history combined, in an area brimming with local flavour.
Within easy walking distance of Venice’s Santa Lucia Railway Station and Piazzale Roma if travelling light, and even closer to the vaporetto (waterbus) stops at Riva di Biasio and San Stae on the Grand Canal for hassle-free travel around the city.
And so much to see and do right on your doorstep…
Moments to Campo San Giacomo Dell’ Orio - one of Venice’s most charming ‘away from the crowds’ tree-filled squares and home to a well-stocked Coop supermarket and nearby local shops - and a short walk to a Conad supermarket on the Rio Marin canal.
Close to a great variety of cafes, bars and eateries including All’ Anfora, La Zucca, Il Refolo, Al Prosecco and Antica Besseta to name but a few, and within minutes of the Ca’ Pesaro International Gallery of Modern Art, Palazzo Mocenigo at San Stae (Museum of the History of Fabrics, Costumes and Perfumes) and the Fondazione Prada at Ca’ Corner Della Regina.
A leisurely stroll to the 14th Century Franciscan Church of the Frari, (home to Canova's extraordinary triangular marble tomb and Titian's legendary masterpiece, the 'Assumption'), the Scuola Grande di San Rocco with its amazing Tintoretto’s, the vast palazzo-lined Campo San Polo plus the culinary delights and buzz of the Rialto

Great place to stay. Would recommend.
Wonderful location, lovely flat with plenty of space, warm welcome from Views on Venice team. Easy access to nearby supermarket and restaurants. Would recommend.
Nothing - love staying with Views on Venice!
We loved everything about our stay here. The property was quiet but close to everything. The host Luca was friendly and helpful. We hope to return! Highly recommend.
A lovely apartment with good facilities and well-needed air-conditioning in a very good location. Quiet at night and in the morning but not to far to walk to the sights. Some nice restaurants nearby and a co-op. Welcome from host was friendly and helpful.
Wonderful location with local families rather than tourists. Close to Vaparetto stop and train station. Air conditioning was perfectly set by Matteo.
We would love to stay here again.

Excellent accommodations and support
My wife and I were fortunate to have stayed in Views on Venice property. The accomodations were excellent and the persons, especially Luca, providing support went out of their way to help us even when it was not convenient. We would use Views on Venice again their facilities offer much greater value than and hotel.
I cannot think of anything.
The property itself was comfortable, clean and a bit stark. Getting TO the property was a tad tricky. Be prepared for the stone walkways and narrow, labyrinth styled pathways leading to your apartment square. It was an adventure each day finding your way around.
The location is quiet, but cafés, restaurants and shops just a 2 min walk away and all touristic hotspots including the Biennale Giardini within 30 min walking distance or 3 min to the Riva di Biasio Vaporetto stop. The apartment is generously equipped with tableware and cutlery.
One small drawback: the agency told us even with outside temperature at 15° Celsius or so the heating can only be turned on from 15th Oct on. So if you plan to travel shortly before, do not forget a warm pullover for a cozy stay.
The apartment was a good size with modern furniture and appliances. We had a few small issues, but the owner was responsive and quickly resolved them. I would definitely stay there again.

Dream Apartment for Dream Vacation
My family and I loved everything about our stay. The apartment was very comfortable for the four of us and located close enough to everything for walking to yet far enough to be in a quiet part of Venice.
The size of the bedrooms and bathrooms was good for four adults. The large living room was comfortable for relaxing after long days of sightseeing. The kitchen is well equipped.
The communication with Views on Venice really could not have been any better. They also arranged a water taxi for our 4am trip to the airport.
This apartment was by far the best one we stayed at during our two week Italian vacation.
Nothing!!
This was the last stop on a family trip, and this apartment was perfect. Easy to get to from the vaporetto and close to a nice square with restaurants, a bakery and gelateria. Nice to relax where locals spend time away from the chaos of P. San Marco. The kitchen was well equipped and it was really nice to have two full baths. Would definitely book again.
Reasonable walk for train station and still close to Rialto Bridge and then St. Mark’s. Great communication from host who also arranged a very early am water taxi to the airport for us. Wifi a bit spotty is only complaint
Beautiful, clean apartment in Venice. Close to train station. About 10 minutes walk to Rialto Bridge, a bit further to St. Mark’s Square. Did not spend much time in the apartment, but when we did it was very comfortable.

Quiet and centrally located
The spacious flat the location
The safe did not open therefore useless. By replacing the bulbs to a warm LED would change the living room into a cozier room.
If it was me who could decide….I would change the colour of the main wall in the living room to all white.
This apartment delivered exactly what they advertise online and what we were looking for during our stay! We were so grateful to get into the apartment and have someone show us around and even mark recommendations on a map, and then to get settled into the spacious and nicely decorated apartment. The beds were comfortable (especially the main bed and the pillows!) and though the bathrooms are a bit small they were perfect for our family. The kitchen was nice, and the living room is really comfortable. This part of the city is quiet but still easy to get to the main tourist attractions. We would definitely stay in this property again!!
Our family loved calling this sweet space home. It was very clean and comfortable, allowing us a lot of room to hang out and enjoy meals with local food from the nearby Rialto Market. Check-in was a bit challenging as it was hard to find the place without clear instructions and cell service. It would be wonderful if the company used WhatsApp for communications so that wifi can be used. I recommend the S. Stae water taxi station and following the dinosaur footprints to the Museum of Natural History, which is right behind the apartment.
This is a great apartment in a quiet neighborhood. Staff was very helpful throughout the process. They arranged for water taxi to/from the apartment. Apartment was very clean and water pressure in the showers were excellent (always a plus!). The only negatives I can think of were that the elevator was not working a couple of days. This was not a big deal as we were on the first floor. Also, the dryer was not working during our stay. That said, I would still very highly recommend this apartment!
