The hotel is lovely and the staff who greeted us were kind and accommodating. However, since we were the only guests for breakfast, she asked if it would be okay to take late checkout and skip breakfast. We agreed, but only because we felt embarrassed to say no. We book all our stays based entirely on breakfast being included in the room rate, and this room was more than twice the price of others in the area. We travel a lot, and review a lot of properties. Our regular rating system allots two out of five stars for a hotel’s breakfast, so as good as the property may be it can never get more than 3 stars without breakfast. Had we known there would be no breakfast, we would have booked a less expensive property and saved ourselves $200 US dollars. I’m sure it would have been at least 4 stars under different circumstances.

Perfect spot for an overnight stay. Room are small but comfortable and the location was great. Would definitely book there again if/when I come back for a return visit

This is a very well maintained property with lots of conveniences, including location, parking and dining. The staff is very helpful and the restaurant is outstanding. The room was very comfortable and spacious. We would definitely return.

Wonderful property!! Lobby and restaurant are beautifully renovated. Rooms are partly updated, bathroom was totally new/ I love that they did not gut old rooms when renovating as it kept a lot of the vintage charm. Wide marble staircase with old wooden and wrought iron banisters was beautiful. The restaurant in the hotel offers a fantastic menu and both the food and the staff are wonderful. Make a reservation if the island is busy!

Great hotel, that was quiet and relaxing. Great breakfast with lots of choice. Would recommend booking dinner at Enis Kaldi restaurant located in the hotel, foods was delicious and great service.

The hotel exceeded all expectations. The room we got was better than advertised. Breakfast was excellent and the reception staff even accommodated a later checkout to match the time of our ferry departure, since it was a slow day at the hotel. The location is absolutely convenient, walkable to many places.

This is a beautiful place to stay. The rooms are gorgeous and friendly. Very well taken care of. The staff was helpful with answering questions about places of interest and the hours.

Best hotel on the island
Super hotel and stay. Only issue is that we were told no less than 5 times during our stay that the restaurant is not owned by the hotel. NO ICE! Give me a break. The restaurant is where breakfast is served, is open to the hotel and does have great food. Maybe the hotel should invest in their own ice machine!

We stayed in 8 hotels during our trip to Iceland. This was one of the best if not the best. It was quiet, comfortable, really clean and we’d loved the decor and local art in the public areas. The locations was convenient to everything and near parking was easy to access.

Wonderful Hotel
We loved our stay at this hotel. Honestly, the shower was the best shower we’ve ever had. We’ve talked about it repeatedly since. Haha. After a long day of sightseeing, that makes all the difference! Very nicely maintained property with modern rooms and comfortable beds. Easy to get to from the ferry and near to many restaurants and grocery stores, too!

We arrived at the hotel late afternoon and on arrival we were told that we could use the spa and where it was. The room was nice and we went down to the spa. When we got down there the sauna had a sign on it saying "out of order" and one of the 2 jacuzzi's was empty, so that just left 1 jacuzzi. We got into that and then found that while it was really warm the bubbles did not work. When we went to breakfast the following morning one of the staff was filling the cereal but did not say anything to us. We asked if we sit anywhere and was told we should. There was no other service at breakfast.

Definitely the place to stay in Heimaey. Modern, clean, comfortable and great breakfast. A terrific value overall, which is very difficult to find in Iceland. Light room full of windows.

This is a charming and well appointed hotel ideally situated for the Heimaey experience. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast is extensive delicious and filling. The room was quite comfortable with a great bed and shower. A great base for a truly special place on Earth.

The hotel is really well located in the town, near ferry, restaurants, shops, museums and other activities and hiking trails. You don't need a car for almost anything. The location is quiet, adjoins a top-level, restaurant, which also serves breakfast to hotel guests. Very pleasant, helpful staff.

Wonderful hotel on Heimaey!
Fantastic little hotel! Friendly service (it's a local family owned and operated business) and easy check in. Plus the staff can give great tips on how to see the island. Parking is convenient, in a lot right across the small and quiet street. Lovely lobby, clean well-appointed rooms. Great location - easy walk to the harbor, shops, local restaurants. Good fast wifi. Free self-service laundry. Breakfast in the very nice Einsi Kaldi on-site restaurant was great. And they have relaxing hot tubs and sauna in the basement, which we happily used! Loved the island and this hotel, would strongly recommend both for a stay!
