Super hotel in a relatively quiet location (unless there is a sporting event in nearby Aviva Stadium). I would imagine it would be very busy around there then. About a ten minute walk to nearby village for pubs and restaurants.

Dublin's friendliest 3 Star*** Hotel. For over 50 years customers have returned time and again to experience the warm and …More
Beautiful Lodge with great people, Aberdeen Lodge is in a great location of Dublin, Close to Pubs, Convenience store, and Pharmacy. Close walk to the Dart, or "Hop on Hop off". I can't remember when service staff was so nice.
I have been here now a couple of times...and on both occasions I have enjoyed my stay. The staff are friendly & helpful..the rooms are very good. The right size enabling me to work & relax without feeling crushed & having to squeeze by the bed.
The bar is a bit quite in the evenings but the hotel is so close to the rest of Ballsbridge that it is more a place to relax at the end of the evening.
All in all very good & would recommend to business & people staying in Dublin on holiday..
Lets start with a minor negative, as it's the only one. The room was somewhat bijou. Now the positives - it was clean, comfortable, and had everything we required. A pleasant walk from central Dublin. We didn't bother with breakfast, so can't comment on the food or bar.
I was on a business trip for three days and at the end of each day it was a pleasure to return to the hotel and be greeted with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were very attentive and professional at all times.
Hotel was lovely in great location, breakfast was lovely homemade items.
Getting into the room was difficult as unlocking the door was not easy and we weren't pre-warned that the locks can be tricky to work. When asked for help was met in a rather sarcastic and rude manner.
We were not greeted in a friendly manner. The hotel itself was lovely but the staff could do with some customer service training as were rude and dismissive of us.
Away from the hustle of the centre but only a short walk or cheap taxi ride to get there. The Double Tree gave me just what I required (quality, peace and comfort). Also a wonderful restaurant and superb bar.
As I stated you get what you pay for here and you certainly do get it. I will go again without doubt. John..
Leafy Ballsbridge is a quiet and exclusive residential area, a 20-30 minute walk into town (served by frequent buses). The Grand Canal flows through it, and while much of this waterway is less than grand, there is a pleasant stretch near the Richmond Street bridge with canal-side pubs. George Bernard Shaw’s birthplace is a popular neighbouring attraction.
