I had very low expectations when I book this hotel. I only wanted a beach front hotel! Voi Tanka is much more than that! The resort has good facilities, lovely staff and amazing food (a lot of variety and amazing quality) ! We were in a half board option and we cannot recommend enough the food! I wish I had gone full board. Our room was huge and perfectly cleaned every day but quiet outdated.

Unfortunate experience and overall nice place
The stay was overall nice, the food buffet was lovely and chefs and restaurant staff were amazing always smiling and helpful. Only disappointing that were the front office /reception staffs they were completely rude no manners for example my wife call them as them where to find ice creams places they hang up the line, we called them about the AC not working they never sent anyone to fix it , even in our final day we asked for someone to come and collect our luggage so we get in our taxi one hour later no one comes and we had to carry our luggage for mile to the taxi very disappointing to say the least. I mean it could have been the best experience if the receptionist were professional and had some sense for hospitality and manners

Good for families but quite noisy if you are a couple. The water and sand are great as to be expected in Sardegna. The resort is an hour drive form the airport and cost £100 by car. The town nearby is just a road but has some cute restaurants.. but you must book early. You have to pay extra for everything from sun beds, to the gym to any classes. You have to wear a hair cap in the pool. You have to rent beach towels and get refunded at the end. Generally the service was good but not always. The resort is not cheap for a weeks holiday either. The main restaurant Oasys was included in the price for half board but its huge and buffet style as there are so many people. Food there was decent and lots of variety. Would recommend for families but not for couples who want a quiet time.

The resort has dated decor although it is clean. I think it's more of a UK star rating 3 than the 4 it has been given and its over priced for what it is. 2 sunbeds and an umbrella will cost you daily between €16-50 depending on which row you select. Towels are rented at cost and its worth noting that casbah standard full board only entitles you to food in the buffet and pizzeria. It is largely for Italian families and gets very busy. We were disappointed to arrive and find that 50% of facilities were closed for the season, 3 weeks before the end of the season. We chose the resort for the variety of restaurants and bars so this was disappointing.

Hotel more suited to Italian families
When you pay for a 4 star hotel you expect good service and accommodation. Tanka Resort did not provide this. After check-in it took us 45 mins to find our room. There's no signage around what is a huge resort. Our room was old and depressing, bathroom small. Overall I would describe the rooms as dark and claustrophobic and there is no outdoor seating area - there were trees hanging over the small balcony so we had no view. Room didn't have the basic things - kettle, cups, minibar, slippers. Breakfast was a cafeteria like buffet and frantic. Staff barely spoke any English and the majority of staff were not helpful. The woman at Nettuno beach bar told us they close at 6 so we went back same day and it was closed at 5.25.We had to ask her 3 times as she was dismissive and kept saying the bar is only for hotel guests in which we replied we were.Two staff stood out (older balding man in luggage drop off area) he tried so hard to get us a taxi and offered us shelter when it was raining and another lovely man at swimming pool. There's nothing to do in evenings despite advertising various entertainment options. I am putting this down to it being early October. Potentially it has the makings of a great resort as facilities are fantastic and location/beach cannot be beaten but we felt it wasn't a hotel for international travellers.

Property confortable in terms of large spaces and beach very beautiful and wide. Baby kitchen is ok and in particular Arianna is very nice with children. But rooms are old and not so clean. The staff is not so responsive to customers requests.

Resort very tired needs renovation, it was almost empty and they could have upgraded us at no cost to make our stay memorable but didn't. It was 'the computer says no' to any question, food was good one day followed by re-heated from the day before the next day that was horrible really poor value for money and a resort not that puts all English speakers into a not the be respected or considered as important guest, I had too many arguments with staff who could care a toss. If you are a Brit they assume you are Eastern European which as extremely irritating!!!!!!!!

Mediocre property with beautiful sea
The sea is beautiful! The property, however, is far from perfect. The rooms are definitely not 4 star and the quality of food in the restaurant varies from day to day. We had both amazing dinners but also very poor ones. The breakfast buffet sucks both for quality and variety. There were masses of people during our stay so it felt very crowded. The property spans a lot so there is a lot of walking to the beach or even to go for breakfast. I would not come back to this property anymore.

Perfect holiday
Perfect location on one of the best beaches of South Sardinia. Room in a peaceful garden, surrounded by plants and flowers. Good food. The only thing I didn't find quite fare is the resort fee (10€ per person per night) when you already pay a pretty high rate.

Great facilities. Rooms a bit tired
The grounds of the hotel are really well kept and the pools are brilliant. The rooms though are a bit tired. We had 2 bathrooms but a kitchen with no crockery or cutlery! There is lots to do on site and the hotel is right on the beach with other beaches within walking/cycling distance.

Old fashioned village-style resort from the 90s with terrible cafeteria-like buffet, rooms with tube TV and no wifi. Super clean, friendly and kind staff with an amazing beach that was the only thing that made the experience worth it. Expect to pay for everything extra, even beach towels and chair. Not-included items (like ala carte restaurant) were always high quality. Forced to use their tanka card to pay for everything extra, and it had to be charged with cash!

For families with kids. Very clean and warm Sea, not deep - good and safety for kids. Deep sea far from beach. Huge territory, partly on hills - not everyone like to go to the room true stairs 50-100 steps, trains working only till 8pm. Not bed food on dinning area. Wines better to buy on local shop. Be ready to sleep only from 2am when disco finish very very noisy music.

Excellent hotel on the beach
Hotel is right on the beach. Staff is fantastic, food excellent. Rooms are extremely clean but are dated (e.g., bathrooms would benefit from a renovation). It is important to reserve an umbrella and seats on the beach at the time you make your reservation, as otherwise you will find yourself in the very back of the beach. The place is ideal for families with children. There are many events and entertainment at night. The food buffet is very rich and has a large variety of food (including many vegetarian and vegan options). The water is incredibly clean, the beach too. There is also a (about) 40x21mt pool (deep) and a shallow pool. Those are typically empty because the beach is so fantastic. A great place for a relaxing vacation.

Beautiful beach, amazing pool but watch costs
Overall we had a pleasant stay; huge swimming pool (the photos don't do it justice), great food, beautiful sandy beach, friendly restaurant staff (although don't speak much English and the reception staff are useless/rude - took us 40mins to just book a taxi to the airport and didn't tell us that the half board was only valid in one restaurant), evening entertainment every night (all in Italian though) but need to watch for the small print. There are charges for EVERYTHING; additional tax (2EUR/night), sunbeds (30EUR a day), beach towels (10EUR deposit, 2EUR to have them cleaned), wifi (6EUR an hour) on a special card which you have to charge before purchases and the resort is large - walking from your room to the main restaurant could take 20mins. If you go half board, its only in one restaurant - buffet style. The rooms were disappointing, very clean but low standard of furniture and general feel.

This is not a 4 star resort - couples avoid
Basic rooms, lack of facilities, and KIDS, KIDS, KIDS constantly screaming and running around the wasp-ridden buffet. Payment for drinks etc. is by "top up card" which makes the place feel like your staff canteen. Can't put anything on the room. Internet is only in the reception area and costs 6 euros and hour. This is 2014 not 1994. Beach is lovely if you actually avoid the hotel sunbeds, which are packed like sardines (no pun intended) and cost tens of euros PER DAY to use ! Go a little to the left and right and lie on your towel for nothing. Evening entertainment: Guy singing songs badly behind a keyboard/laptop. Laughable that this is 4 star.

Good holiday resort
We are a family of four and stayed for a week on half board. We enjoyed our stay and loved the food and activities the resort offered. The rooms were quiet and clean. The staff could have been more helpful.

900 room hotel, industrial formula at beach
Per day per person: -beach chair: 33EUR (front row) to 10EUR (last row) -spa pool 20-25EUR, 5 star facility -kids club FREE This massive resort has a lot to do but it is too huge and is designed to make you spend huge amounts of time waiting in lines to check in, to check out, and walking to beach and meals. Takes a good 10-20 minutes each event each way. You also need to deposit cash money on hotel room card to use for all snacks, facilities, a la carte restaurants, beach chairs, scuba, etc. Sounds easy until you see how much trouble it becomes to find the card, load it, load more and more and more. To play minigolf you have to walk to a information booth 10 minutes away, deposit 20EUR. You spend 40 minutes just coming and going to get the club, the golf ball, return the item, etc. The pool is lovely. The buffets are good value and very popular and extensive. The neighboring beaches and grottoes and cliffs are spectacular. This hotel could do better and not be cheap on the amenities and customer time. One more item. Check out is 9:00-9:30am. Somehow they can't hire enough maids to provide normal checkout. The maids were entering our room at 8:50am, wondering why we were still not vacated.

Friendly welcome from reception staff & check in was straightforward. Golf buggies took us and our luggage to our room Rooms are cleaned everyday & reasonable in size with good showers & terrace area although in general could do with a refurb Main dining area is large, with excellent service from attentive staff & a huge array of dining options. Very few 'repeat dishes' over 10 days & plenty of vegetarian choices. Sandy beach which is very well maintained with two bar options for lunch & drinks Plenty of spa, fitness & sporting activities available Gardens are immaculate Main centre includes some nice shops Regular shuttle service to move around the village Tanka Card easy to use & very convenient

Tanka has very good service and facilities. The rooms, however, were very basic and quite disappointing when compared to the whole customer offering at Tanka. This is definitely something to be developed and improved upon to ensure repeat customers!

Lovely holiday location
We stayed the first week of June and had a wonderful time here. We had a Monte Superior room with a fantastic view of the bay, The friendly maids came in very day. There were two lots of 16 good paved steps with wood rail from the resort but our daughter with special needs managed them easily enough and there are slopes otherwise. and a train around the resort. The resort is set in well kept beautifull tropical gardens. The Oasys restaurant was well run and served quickly. The choices varied every day, displayed professionally, included were 4 pasta choices, different hot food choices (always two fish and two meat), lots of lovely deserts, and starters and salads, wine, water, and Italian Beer were included. The restaurant was very clean and staff were very good. The beach was outstandingly beautifull and kept clean. We didn't use the sunbeds as they were expensive. There was entertainment which we didn't use. We were in the Gelateria everyday! We did go out in one of the speed boats and snorkelled, just of the 3 of us with a driver, and we had hired a car, which is cheaper than a taxi there and back to the hotel. The only things we were not happy with was the long check in at reception (hardly anyone was there) and the swimming pool was freezing cold! The buggy man made up for it though by taking our bags quickly to our room and took us to the restaurant in time for dinner. We would definitely go back here again at this time of year.

Great time of the year to go, it was quite quiet, plenty of room and superb weather. Very well kept grounds, food good, beach perfect, rooms kept clean. It is a huge place so during busy periods I imagine it gets crowded, but we had a great time here.

Tanka Village Resort
Sardinia is lovely, great beaches, friendly and good climate. Tanka Village is a huge resort. Very clean, but basic. Not a 4 star hotel, this is based on its location, not on the accommodation. But this is normal from what I hear regarding star ratings in Sardinia. Ideal if you have children. Nearly 98% Italians, very friendly. Great beach and sea, but very, very busy. Take your own brolley and beach towels and walk to the left or right to the public beach. We were a couple and could not eat in main restaurant at night, too busy, so elected to eat in the Alacarte every night at extra cost. Very good food and clean. Tanka Village free town train too infrequent. Long walk to town in heat. Golf not part of hotel, and not a Spa as we know it in UK. The resort is also a convention centre, so quite a few delegates use the facilities. You have to load a card every day to pay for drinks, food. Would suggest you take plenty of cash/Euros, as the machine to load your card only takes cash, the ATM did not work. The holiday was a surprise for my husband and I was really disappointed at first, but gradually we got used to it and had a nice time, feeling rested at the end of it. I suppose it was a bit of a culture shock, as this resort was designed for Italian families. We went in September, towards the end of the Italian holiday season. We understand from locals it's even busier in July and August. The hotel is part of an Italian chain (ATA Hotels), my husband has stayed in their Milan hotel and was extremely pleased with the standard, it did not compare at all with Tanka Village Golf & Spa.

A Helping Hand
After a bumpy arrival (the airport lost my luggage, but it was later found) the Tanka receptionists did there best to accommodate me and my needs, they were friendly and respectful. It was a great experience being at the hotel because of the spectacular views and it's near an amazing village. I would love to come back someday!!

Ich fahre seit 25 Jahren regelmässig nach Sardinien. Das VOI Tanka war die schlechteste Location in all den Jahren. Realität hat rein gar nichts mit den Buchungsunterlagen zu tun (siehe Fotovergleich). Die Hecke steht 30cm vor dem Sitzplatz und geht bis oben durch. Ist in Wirklichkeit noch schlimmer, da Weitwinkel beschönigt. Es ist schlichtweg dunkel im Zimmer. Das Essen am Buffet ist in der Regel knapp lauwarm, Gemüse zerkocht und Beilagen wie Reis, Kartoffeln, etc. klumpig. Wirklich gut sind die frisch zubereiteten sardischen Spezialitäten. Frühstück ist getränkemässig eine Zumutung - alles Konzentratbrühen, die noch schlecht gemixt werden. Automatenkaffee nicht trinkbar und für einen guten Cappuccino steht man 10 Min. an - jeden Morgen. Mit meinen 25 Jahren Sardinienerfahrung kann ich VOI Tanka nicht ansatzweise empfehlen. Ganz weit weg von 4-Sternen, max. 2!

Villaggio immerso nel verde vicinissimo ad una spiaggia fantastica. È un villaggio super organizzato. Cibo abbondante (fin troppo) e di buona qualità. Alloggi ampi e comodi. Ci ritornerò sicuramente per la quarta volta! Rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo!!
