"The property was amazing. We walked in and were wowed by the beautiful house and the fantastic views. We visited the park from the house and the wonderful beaches ( which were in walking distance). The coffee shop in the local village was a great bonus too.The property had everything we needed, especially the air conditioning in the bedroom! We loved watching the ever changing view from the deck. Definitely take your binoculars so you can watch the birds in the trees!The host was easy to contact and cleared up any questions we had.If we are lucky enough to come back we would book again and will recommend it to friends.Thank you for sharing a bit of paradise with us."

"All of the staff were quite friendly and helpful. We loved the grounds, the location, and the beach - great access to Tunnels, Haena, and Hanalei/Princeville communities. The sunrise view from the premium ocean view rooms was fabulous. When it rained and the wind blew(which it did a lot during our stay the last week of July/first week of August), the balcony was often uncomfortable for sitting outside. Our unit was not as well equipped as would have been useful for a stay as long as ours where we prepared meals onsite. Basic dishes, cooking utensils and pans were provided, as were salt and pepper. We had a 15 day stay and the room was cleaned once during that time. The hot water was the hottest I have ever encountered, which was wonderful for showering after a day in the water! What we haven't figured out was why our welcome email asked what our plans were (we had our wedding on the island and wrapped our honeymoon into the trip) - we shared that information but as far as I can tell, it was for no real purpose. We are not terribly well traveled, so maybe I missed something that others will be aware of."

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've been to Kauai several times but this was our first time staying on the north shore past Hanalei. The Colony is the last resort on the road that ends at the Na Pali coast, a couple of miles past Hanalei. It's a wonderful, quiet location that's extremely scenic located coastside. No TVs, which is in keeping with the vibe, but decent internet. The pool area is very nice and inviting, as was the hot tub. You are steps from the ocean, with a nice walkable beach in both directions, but it is too rough for swimming. For that you'd go about a mile or so to the famous Tunnels beach and snorkeling spot. It can get windy at the resort, but at least during our stay it was much less windy at Tunnels and Hanalei. Adjacent to the resort is a small but decent coffee shop/art store. A pretty good restaurant, Gaia, is also on site."
Haena Beach House: Private Luxury Beachfront Home w/ Breathtaking Views

"We loved this property due to its ocean front location. It easily fit our group of 8 and had plenty of room to hang out on the two rainy days we encountered. The house is literally right on the beach. If you like going to sleep with the sound of waves in the background, there's probably no better house in Kauai than this. As accurately represented in the listing, the ocean in front of the house is rough, and mostly not good to swim in. We would ride the short 5 minutes to Tunnels, or 10 minutes to Hanalei Bay beach, our favorite. House had all fixtures and amenities in the kitchen to cook and feed a large group, and was set up with plenty of necessary items like washing soap, garbage bags etc... for at least for the first few days."
