"So, a one night stay for Donington Park and it was a head on a pillow.
The property is in dire need of an uplift.
It felt like I was staying in a care home to be honest.
The food in the restaurant was excellent but the atmosphere, oh my days,so quiet and sterile. Get some background music on......
And no air-conditioning."
"Reasonable hotel, similar to a Travelodge. Very overpriced for my two day stay. I expected more for the price when I booked. Bedroom was adequate, bathroom needed a makeover."
"Room was a generous size, bed really comfy, towels a good size and curtains full length and thick, keeping the light out so enabling us to sleep on in the morning. Room looked a bit tired but there was some redecorating going on in the hotel. Problem with the shower in that water temperature was too hot and couldn't be reduced. Staff member had a go at fixing this on a temporary basis until maintenance person available.
We were there to attend a function. This was held in a lovely modern room in...
"The property is tired and rooms and bathrooms need updating. Beautiful old hotel with history! Staff extremely helpful with a smile. Breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately the boiler was not working in the main building but the rooms with hot water were too hot in 30+ degree temps, uncomfortable to sleep in, so we were given both rooms, one where it was cool enough to sleep in and the other we can have hot water. Very accommodating! Thank you."
"Great pub/hotel/bistro in a beautiful peaceful village.
Staff were extremely helpful.
We had a wedding with so needed an early check-in and late return.
Both were accommodated for.
Room was clean, fresh. Continental breakfast was included in price. We also paid extra for cooked b/fast. Very nice freshly cooked, hot, good quality products. Nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend the Star Inn and stay there again. Or even go for a nice meal. Give it a go ! "
"I stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks with my kids. Traveling from CA. All staff are extremely friendly! Breakfast was great! Wish they had waffles but nonetheless food was good. They have a shell gas station with bfast sandwiches, snacks and amenities across the parking lot. Also a KFC. I would definitely recommend!!"
