Renovations and cleaning needed!

The location of the motel was perfect for spending the day at the beach. It was a simple 2 min walk to the water. The motel itself was very disappointing. It is very run down and in serious need of renovations. Our “suite” had two bedrooms with bunk beds in both. The beds were not comfortable. The room had a stale beer smell and did not seem very clean. Everything was dated and dusty. The small bathroom had a new sink, which was nice, but the shower was full of mildew and did not look clean. It was not a type of motel room that you would want to hang out in. Luckily we were able to spend our days on the beach, which was wonderful. There are three ‘Edgewater’ locations in Wasaga Beach. For us to check in, we had to find the main office in one of the other locations. This was a little annoying and confusing since it was our first time in Wasaga Beach. I even tripped over one of their uneven steps while trying to find the correct building and scraped and cut my knee.

Nous avons trouvé des vêtements en arrière des divans, commodes. Les matelas sont finis depuis 5 ans au moins. Nous avions un demi rouleau de papier de toilette pour 5 personnes pour 3 jours, jamais eu de visite de la femme de chambre pour voir si c’était correct.

Proximity to the beach is what made it worth renting the 2 bedroom unit. I didn't mind it being a bit run down but it should at least be clean and the appliances should work. At initial entry, the unit looked clean but we found a hair ball on the top bunk. Also found beer crown caps under the side table drawer. Only 3 out of the 4 burners worked, the oven itself didn't. I didn't care about mismatching dishes/utensils but the cooking pots/pans were really really really old with the Teflon all scratched out. But I was prepared due to the mixed reviews I read - I brought our own linens and own pans, and made do without the oven. Fridge, microwave, air conditioner, washroom, beds and futon (excluding linens) are all okay. Lastly, the front door lock is very flimsy so we always made sure that we brought our valuables with us when we go out.
