About this property

1940s Fisherman’s Cottage close to beach. Right next to the Water Mill museum.

  • Stay at one of the last remaining 1940s fisherman's cottages, perfectly restored on a private and secluded property. Close to multiple beaches. All the original charm with all of the modern amenities you would ever need. Private half acre, centered in-between Bridgehampton and the Village of Southampton, both 5 minutes away, with easy access to beaches. Close to all town of Southampton beaches. We look forward to welcoming you to our family home.

    We spent the past 2.5 years restoring the property. We peeled back layers of add-ons and construction from over the years to get it back to the gem we always knew it was! The house is right behind the Parish Museum, close to the Milk Pail and Green Thumb farm stands, and situated within very close proximity to Water Mill shops, restaurants, Soul Cycle and The Hampton Jitney stop. The property is ideally located for easy access to everything. The landscaped garden is both private and charming.

We really enjoyed our stay in the house, which is quaint and well-located, close to several lovely beaches, farm stands, restaurants, and more. The property looked a little better in the photos than IRL, I have to say. The listing wasn't inaccurate, but it was very well photographed. We found the space to be a little tighter than expected, and quite cluttered with stuff. This could be easily fixed. Some other things could have been a little better. There were no bikes, although the images showed bikes. We didn't have any shade or umbrella on the patio, and could only use it in the late afternoon or evenings. (Eventually we found a broken patio umbrella by the shed, and used it as best we could). I think the house overall needs some maintenance, and it could be even more enjoyable.
