Watermouth Castle

Very tired and scruffy looking hotel. Website photos are very misleading, the exterior paint is all flaking and in desperate need of some maintenance. The dining room,whilst very grand has threadbare and stained chairs. The bedroom was just about ok apart from rumpled carpet and the squeaky bedsprings. The bathroom was clean. The positive was the breakfast, which was really good, quite a pleasant surprise as I was prepared for it to be as shabby as the hotel. The staff are pleasant and welcoming. All in all I would not return or recommend this hotel, especially as it was not particularly cheap.

Excellent location. Room had everything needed. Would stay again.
