House needs TLC, but Good Location
Well let me start with we had a great stay, checking in was easy, the location of the house is good and all appliances worked (besides the hot tub we could not get that working properly). But the biggest issues I had was the water pressure, cleanliness, and bring the trash down to the dump (who on there vaca with a big family wants to worry about stopping by the dump daily with their trash). The house has potential but it is falling apart, tile, grout in chunks. Everything is sticky, walls are dirty (finger prints everywhere) kitchen cabinets you can see food splash marks, covered up stains with rugs. Just dirty. Definitively NOT professionally cleaned every stay. There is No jack and Jill bathroom it is a toilet/tub and a toilet/shower in the master suite. The shower upstairs we could not get to work due to the water pressure and good luck filling up the tub with no water pressure. There is dead ladybugs in the house everywhere, again back to the cleaning thing. I just hope they clean the sheets every stay because that was on my mind. If you don't mind a so so clean place that you have to haul your trash and maybe things work then this is perfect. It didn't ruin our stay, but I would not stay again.

Thank you for your review. I wish you would’ve called us because there was no water pressure because upon your departure the cleaning crew noticed the well pump was broke, had you called me we would have had the plumber out there to fix it. Yes, in the mountains there is no garbage pick up and you do have to drive your garbage to the bottom of the hill. Next time you have any issues with a rental please contact the owners while you are there. Glad you had a great time. Delia

Mountain Retreat
We had a lovely time here. There were 15 of us and the property offered PLENTY of space. The grandkids enjoyed the game room upstairs. There are some maintenance issues that need to be addressed from the owners. The dishwasher is temperamental and cobwebs need to come down! Lol. Also, you have to carry your trash into town to dispose of it or pay $10/bag. I did not see that in the listing… but perhaps I missed it. And, bring your own toilet paper. You are left with 1 roll to start, but required to bring your own. Bring plenty of towels and washcloths too. Overall, still a great stay.

Yes, in NC we do not have garbage pick up and all garbage must be taken down to the recycle facility at the bottom of the mountain we are lucky that it’s very close by. Memorable mountain holiday
Perfect location and space for our big family Christmas gathering! We enjoyed snow tubing, the hot tub, hikes and a bonfire and plenty of lounging and eating and sleeping space for our family of 22. It was a memorable holiday for us all.

Nice mountain home and location
The home is beautiful and had lots of room and is very reasonably priced. The area is beautiful and scenic. We visited several.area parks and activities. The hot tub is amazing, but it took a long time to heat up, even with the top on it. The ownwers responded quickly when we called ot messaged them. I would stay here again.

We had some issues but property manager took care of them quickly! They need to fix a few problems...dishwasher didn't work, dryer knob was broke, one knob on the stove was broke, looked like someone ducktaped it on. Should leave a few chemicals and maybe instructions for hot tub for longer stays. We did notice it wasn't clean real well toilets dirty, dirty dishes, counters dirty and under couch and other areas not cleaned. Needs more pots, pans and utensils! We did buy a set of knives to replace one that broke while using it.All in all we had great time a beautiful view quite area!

Great place for large families / groups!
We had a group of 18 family members (10 adults & 8 children) for our annual vacation. The home had a great layout with the bedrooms spaced out for privacy and able to put the kids in bed for the adults to spend adult time together without worrying about waking the babies up! The community park, creek, and fishing ponds were a huge hit and we spent several hours there. The location is easy to access and close to Maggie, Waynesville, Asheville and we even took a day trip to Dollywood! Lots of laughs and memories were made this week!!!!!

My family had a great time. The teens loved the air hockey game and all the kids loved petting the burrow. There was plenty of space for the adults to spread out and visit. They all said it was a great place to get together.

Bad choice
The sheets and covers not been washed, beds very uncomfortable, dish washer not working, red bugs everywhere, towels nasty with stains, tubs not cleaned, hot tub. Not working, no TV or ceiling fans in bedrooms. Only positive thing, plenty of uncomfortable room for everyone.

I’m saddened to learn that your experience was less than satisfactory and that the description on our home site did not mention that there are no ceiling fans in the bedrooms. We take pride in our cleanliness and use a professional cleaning company after every stay. I’m so sorry that you could not follow the instructions that are provided to run the hot tub and dishwasher (which are both working). At anytime you could’ve called me and I could’ve walked you through the instructions. The lady bugs you are talking about will crawl in if you leave doors open but I also wonder if they came in because of all the garbage and food your family left all over the home. In the future I am always available for my guests and try to resolve any issues to make your trip pleasurable.

Property is Not AS LISTING
This property needs a lot of maintenance. There are doors falling off the hinges, the master bedroom and bathroom have 5 different colors on the walls where the wrong paint was used, there are rotten deck boarded, the smoke alarms were chirping until the last night. The maintenance man said that all the smoke alarms needed replacing they were from 2006 ( only legal for 10 years of use) owner only replaced one. The guest bath down stairs the shower head squeals when you try to shower and the mini blinds are all ripped up, the hot tub does not work. We also found this home dirty we found used soap in the showers, bottles and trash in the house.

We know this was something you and your motorcycle group really looked forward to using and would like to thank you for allowing us to compensate you on the hot tub fee. For future guests staying, the upstairs door that fell off the hinge has been fixed and the smoke detectors as well. The master bedroom paint is a technique called, “faux painting” where you take two different colors of white to create a specific look. We pride ourselves with cleanliness and have shared this review with our cleaning crew and they have made it their top priority. Once again thank you for your feedback.

Serious updates needed
If you like being from everyone then this is the place, however it needs some serious updates inside and out. The railing was detached from the wall with holes in the drywall. The "leather couch" was old and cracked. One or two of the beds upstairs was sunk in. Some of the blinds were broken/worn. The carpet looked like something from the fifties(needs to be replaced). There was some sort of cylinder sitting on one of the lounge chairs on the back deck. Also it was not clean so I wouldn't have even trusted anyone using the hot tub, which we didn't. We were booked until Saturday but was glad to move my family out of there on Friday. Would not recommend staying there again.

Great location but house needs upkeeping
We had issues with many things in the house being broken/not well kept. The shower door fell off on a person while showering, the outdoor chair by the fire broke when a child sat on it, the dryer button was broken, the house was infested with ladybugs, the towels and sheets were threadbare, dirty, and torn, the curtains were threadbare and torn, the carpets are filthy and stained, the furniture is stained and torn, etc. For the price, the home was fine, but for future guests, the house needs to be cleaned up and updated/fixed.

Hi Jenny: Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately your stay in February was the week before our Spring cleaning crew coming in. As you can appreciate, winter is particularly difficult up in the mountains. The GOOD NEWS for all future guests is: SPRING CLEANING took place. Regarding the shower door, we were unaware it had even fallen off. For future reference when something physically breaks while you are using it, it would be appreciated to let me know so we can have it immediately fixed. The dryer is 100% working as well. The home would benefit from a deep cleaning and upgrading (e.g., hot tub broken, dryer broken, kitchen supplies extremely old, upstairs carpet needs replacing, and so forth). Great location and able to handle my large family. The price was extremely reasonable and generally a safe location. Thus, there are tradeoffs.

The hot tub is not broken, i wish you would’ve called me while you were there after you left the hot tub guy called me and asked me if you had used the tub cause the breaker had been popped and not on. Communication is extremely important while renting A home and then leaving A review. As you can see the renters that stayed right after you said “hot tub was great” and plenty of kitchen supplies.

Great time. Room for everyone. Hugh success. Lots of kitchen dishes, had electric griller, blender, mixer, most pots and pans a couple was scorched in afraid to use. Everything was neat and cleaned. Will definitely stay again. PS. Hot tub was a plus. Not enough time for fire pit. Trees to hang three hammocks. Donkey, the kids enjoyed, adults enjoyed fishing. So much to do! We hated to leave.

Fun Time with Friends
Overall, the property was what we needed. Plenty of room to spread out. I would note that the Master Bathroom is actually a His and Hers bathroom, both in the Master Bedroom--not a Jack and Jill as described. We noticed there was not an air filter in the downstairs intake. As others have pointed out, the upstairs could use updating. All that being said, we had a great time! Perfect location. We had no issues using the grill, the hot tub worked great, and we loved the fire pit. The kiddos loved feeding the donkey carrots and apples.

The house was nice and had everything we really needed. Location feels like you’re out I’m nature, but not too far from town. The view of night sky was breath taking. I can’t remember the last time I could see so many stars, simply beautiful!

Jungle in the hills
The property wasn't at all like described In listing. The day we were to check in I received a message saying "If" you have 4+4 please use it going up drive! This message coming after I asked before we booked how is the driveway we are all on motorcycles. Before booking it was fine oh no big deal etc. Worst driveway I've ever been on to a home! Took us for $1400+ we had to rent a place at a different location to park our trailers and leaves bikes and trailers then use our 4+4 to get us up the hill. The carpets were 20+ years old and rolled up making trip hazards. The couch was what I would call from a crack house had many rips and leather peeling. The hot water was an issue all weekend. The water heater looked as if it's had been worked on many times with several heating elements laying on the top of it. Beds 😂 well many beds were half-ass beds with foam over the top of make shift beds. Many beds I wouldn't let my dog sleep in. If u wanted to walk the yard it was impossible for the grass hadn't been mowed in weeks and the caretaker stated he's lil behind on yard and maintenance. Never will I rent this place again. I am being polite in all my wording here. First place I've ever booked and not been happy.

Family vacation with the dogs !
We found the property to be just what we needed . Plenty of room and beds ! The kitchen was a good size and most of the things we needed were provided . We enjoyed the hot tub and we cooked on the grill . The only thing that was disappointing was the rain. We could not use the fire pit and there was nowhere to sit outside when it was raining . Over all it was a nice place and we would consider it again.

Great Family Getaway
It was a lovely home with lots of space. The driveway can be a little tricky, but otherwise no problems at all. We loved going do to the pond and fishing and taking photos. The firepit and the back yard area was really nice to hang out in as well.

This was a nice place for what we needed. We didn't use the hot tub at all just because that's not really our thing. One of the showers made a screaming noise for a few minutes til it got going. There was plenty of space for everybody to move freely. Two bathrooms were in one bedroom - one with a shower one with a tub - which was kind of strange but it worked out fine. The wifi never worked well. It did say we were connected but it took forever to load. But we were there with family not to hang out on our phones. We just couldn't even order pizza because it was so slow. We just wanted to be together as a family so this place was perfect for that. My husband did catch 4 bass in the little pond. And my boys liked the donkey. Overall it was a nice time there.

Best Birthday Trip
My family and i throughly enjoyed our stay! all the kids took advantage of the fishing hole DAILY! Getting to talk to the donkey every day especially when you drive by was exciting for all! The campfire nights were awesome. local shopping is within 15 mins, easy drive as well as the trash drop off! Some of the appliances are outdated and need some TLC but over all we had such a good time we are talking about going back again.

Water heater is too small for 20 plus people after 5 people shower water gets cold Hot tub doesn’t have hot water Grill outside is not functioning and has no propane While we stayed at property people came to do repair and owner didnot notify us Temp in house is either too hot or too cold in different rooms House was dirty Bathroom rugs smell like urine in all bathrooms Beds are squeaky Owner is very rude Dishwasher didn’t work after one load Kitchen utensils were dirty Sofa is worked and has smell Carpet is too dirty Upstairs rooms are too small for a couple to live No place to leave garbage Internet was very slow we couldn’t contact anyone god forbid there was medical emergency there was no means of communication as there was no service or internet

As you can see this review was left A month after checkout date due to the fact that this family lost their deposit money. I don’t want to bash anyone BUT they broke and left everything A mess! I’ve never had A family drop the AC to 50 just to freeze out A unit, they cut yes cut all my sheets with scissors! Moved ALL the mattresses to the floors and used the towels for God knows what? I had to replace almost everything in the home free they left! It was A mess!

Great for large groups!
The property is in a nice location and has plenty of room for a large family. Our family really enjoyed spending time around the fire pit in the evenings! The house is located close to Maggie Valley, Cherokee and Waynesville. Cataloochee National park is very close to the house and it is a beautiful area to visit.

Great home for family vacation!
The house is even nicer looking than the pictures showed. We had 3 grandparents, 2 grown children, and 7 grandchildren and their friends ages 10 to 16. The kitchen is spacious and well stocked. The mud room/laundry room is so handy for water shoes and hiking boots which never have to come inside. The hot tub is so nice to come back to every night. The fire pit is beautiful stacked stone about 7 or 8 feet across. Roasting marshmallows and enjoying the evening there is almost as fun as the daytime activities. The master bedroom with the king size bed and the his and hers bathroom and it's own deck access is luxurious . Upstairs the kids had their own space with 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, and a play area. We highly recommend this house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

It was not a spectacular place. The pictures make the property look way bigger than what it is. Also, there was yard work being done while we were there, so it made it really inconvenient to be outside sometimes with a tractor full of mulch coming by and unloading while we were there. Not really the most privacy due to the fact the neighbors dog was always over as well.

We enjoyed our vacation but mostly the company. The previous guest broke the air hockey table which was a bit of a safety issue for a couple of the smaller kids in our family. The grill almost fell on top of my friend while using it. Sheets had holes and kept falling off the bed! It was great for the kids and the hot tub was nice. Thankfully we could bring our 4 dogs! Which was nice when the neighbors dog visited but not when the another neighbor informed us we needed to keep our trained dog on leashes. Needs a deep clean and some upgrades.

Beautiful and stunning
We stayed at this house to celebrate our daughters 16th birthday...we drove 2 hours to hawksnest to go snow tubing.we loved staying at this house and where the location was.my youngest loved seeing jack the donkey. It snowed alot when we were there .we had four wheel drive and had no problem coming down off the mountain with all that snow. We made such great memories...we would definitely stay at this house again

Just perfect.
Lots of beds, lots of space, perfect for the youth winter retreat. It snowed two days we were there. The drive up the mountain is scary with snow on the ground. You will need snow tires (like we did) if you don’t have a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

Family pre-Christmas fun
Our family of 12 adults and 4 little ones had a great time in Waynesville and the house fit our needs well! Lots of space for everyone! We loved the hot tub and fire pit especially! All in all, for the price, we were happy with our stay! Some areas do need improvement. There was litter and cigarette butts all around outside. The linens (both bed linens and towels) need either an upgrade or to be replaced with new. We had to buy a new coffee maker at dollar general because the basket was missing from the one on the coffee bar. Unfortunately, both of the owners phone numbers listed on the email we received were disconnected or had been changed so I was never able to contact them by phone. All that said, we had a wonderful time being together and grateful to have found a house big enough for all of us at such a great price! The Christmas tree was an unexpected bonus, so that was wonderful!! We also loved saying hi to Jack the donkey coming and going from the house. We skied at Cataloochee two days and were so happy with how close we were to Maggie valley and the ski area. Thanks again! Merry Christmas!

Si glad you had a great Christmas! Our phone numbers are correct and have never been changed. You did email me and I responded in less than two minutes. We can not control the outside since it’s been snowing and we can’t see if there are cigarette butts outside. Thanks for letting me know. All towns are brand new as we bought them December 1st so am not sure what to are referring to. Glad you had a great time! Delia
