The caboose and adjoining bath house were fabulous! All the little extras made for such a fantastic stay. The hosts thought of so many things to make the stay exceptional. Umbrellas, lanterns, snacks, mini fridge, the waterfall, the heater on the porch, the fire pit, the grill, the bathrobes and so many other little touches. Very welcoming!
Great stay, perfect location for our trip. Authentic experience with Caboose and perfect location to enjoy outdoor living on covered porch of bathhouse.
We are 80 years old. The bed was too close to the wall to enter or exit with ease. The weather was too cold for comfort getting to the bathroom at night( which is an issue with older persons) This is a perfect stay for a young couple in warm weather. Not for cold weather. It was beautifully decorated. Just not good for us.
This was our third stay at the caboose, and we enjoyed every single minute. We love the property and spent our entire stay relaxing and enjoying the beautiful scenery and the accommodations. The owner is incredibly responsive, and friendly. The property was very clean, and we loved all the thoughtful details. We will be back!! Thanks for a fantastic stay!
My boyfriend and I came here for a pre-Valentine’s day getaway and had the best time. The plan was to go skiing one day and to the casino the next. We had such an amazing time here though that we skipped the skiing! My boyfriend built us a bonfire one night and we watched the Super Bowl the next night while listening to the waterfall. I’ve never been to North Carolina before but staying here definitely made it one of my favorite trips ever!
The location was perfect! You felt away from it all while still having the convenience of being close to major higways. The bathhouse was beautiful and the caboose was so cute and cozy. Brooke was an excellent host and I appreciated her responsiveness.
The caboose and station were beautiful, peaceful, private and conveniently located. We saw many wonderful smokey's attractions but wished we had spent more time at the caboose. We really enjoyed the firepit after our late-night returns without the worry of quite hour restrictions. Thank you very much :-)

We choose this property due to the unique value. Normally we choose due to location and accessibility. This cabin is located just down from the blueridge pkwy, Cherokee and lots of other scenic areas to explore. The cabin itself was perfect. We sat outside and enjoyed the small water feature and covered patio. The bathhouse was the wife’s favorite as it is completely up to date. The only thing I had an issue with is I’m 6’2” and the ceiling in the cabin when you walk in and over the bed is just at that. I clipped my head 2 times on the ceiling. Other than that it was a glorious experience
My wife and I went with our children and spent three nights at The Caboose at Station 451. What a unique and beautiful place to stay! Kids loved sleeping in a train caboose. Property had lots of trees for privacy, great outdoor space and deck with outdoor fire pit, grill, and TV. The owner, Brooke, has thought of every need. We appreciated the snacks and drinks at check in! Very clean unit. We would certainly visit again!
Is there anything not to love about this property?! The location was fantastic and the accommodations were incredible. The separated bath house was such a nice change of pace - it made me be thoughtful about just slowing down, putting my luggage in a different location and cracking a beer and relaxing. Brooke was amazing. Hurricane Helene was on the doorstep and we chose to head out early - Brooke offered potentially lifesaving advice by recommending we not continue on into Asheville due to lower lying elevation. We are planning to come back to this area for a web redemption of our original itinerary and will 100% be back at the caboose.
We stayed for a few nights on spring break with our two train loving boys. Our stay was amazing and our kids could not have been happier! This is one of those rentals that goes the extra mile with little touches to make your stay amazing. From local beer and sparkling flavored water in the fridge, to plenty of firewood and a super nice bathroom with two shower heads, robes and slippers all the amenities were enjoyed by our group. One of our sons even tried the outdoor shower and got a kick out of it! The hammock swing was amazing and now I want to buy one for our home. Loved the outdoor tv area as well. And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the waterfall that provided a soothing backdrop to it all! We definitely would return, GREAT stay!
Very unique and fun home. Great jumping off location for the Cataloochee Valley in the Smoky Mountains NP. Very Clean and nicely equipped. In a private rural setting, but civilization (Waynesville) is only about 15 minutes away. This is a home where the owner pays a lot of attention to details, and it makes for a very enjoyable stay.
If you love trains and you want to see the southern sky this is the place!

Beautiful, loved the property!
The perfect little getaway, thoroughly enjoyed it!
The owners did a wonderful job with the decor, great attention to detail.
Especially the patio area, so welcoming and comfortable.
My husband and I stayed at Station 451 to celebrate our 15th anniversary and had the most amazing time reconnecting with each other and with nature. The place was immaculately clean, adorably decorated and very cozy and romantic. We loved the outdoor shower, the waterfall, the covered porch living space to drink coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evenings. Brooke thought of everything we would need to make our trip special. We truly enjoyed every moment at the caboose!
