"We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin in Sequoia! It was super clean, peaceful, and had so many thoughtful touches that made it feel cozy and homey. Lori and John were great hosts — really quick to respond and made everything super easy. The bed was super comfy, and we slept so well after our days exploring. The Wi-Fi was a little spotty at times, but honestly, it didn’t matter — it was nice to just disconnect and enjoy the quiet. Such a perfect little getaway spot!"
Secluded Nature Escape, Pet Friendly with WiFi in Three Rivers
10/10 Excellent
"This is a true hideaway!! Be prepared to drive a 7 mile twisted road to your cabin. Very quite. Nice place to walk. Best to take a few snacks or coffee for the morning because it’s a hoof to town.

"The Gateway is one of our new favorite spots to stay! The hotel is a well-maintained but older. All the amenities are great and well-maintained as well. Our room was super comfy, and a nice bed.
The restaurant was fantastic, amazing food that was well worth the price. Amazing view at night, with great ambiance. The staff was super friendly, and did a great job!"
"Honestly- don’t go here. It could be such a beautiful place and maybe was at some point, but now it’s a lawsuit waiting to happen. The surrounding properties are beautiful and outside is peaceful. The cabin, itself, is infested by mice. From what I could tell, the mice own it now.
It is by the grace of God that my 6 yr old and I ended up okay, after everything.
This place is in the mountains. Secluded. No cell service. The key was not where it was supposed to be. There were NO instructions inside, including no information about the WiFi. Thankfully a previous guest had written the password down in the guest book.
NO CENTRAL HEAT OR AIR. This was not explained in the listing. It was 40 degrees outside. We used the wood burning stove to keep warm. When we went outside to get more firewood, the door auto-locked behind us. We did not know it did that. Car keys inside the house and everything. Thankfully, with the help of someone else, I got ahold of the owner and she came and let us in.
But then, the mice! Droppings everywhere. Heard them scurrying around the ceiling at night. Saw one run across the floor. Disgusting. We couldn’t sleep.
I’m not trying to be rude. I’m all for roughing it, but everyone should fully understand what they’re getting into. It wasn’t safe with the lack of information and it was unsanitary with the mice. This listing should honestly be removed from hotels.com.
Oh and there was a frog on the coffee pot. "
