The view of Winchester Cathedral from my bedroom was amazing. All of the staff were extremely helpful and positive including promptly resolving air temperature issues in my room. The room was spotlessly clean. But the room felt rather tired with scratched and battered furniture and a dated bathroom. The decor in the bar and restaurant did not reflect the historic location of the building and seemed very generic and unimaginative

"Overall a good stay. My standard room was located on the 2nd floor with no lift in that part of the hotel. It was compact - suitable for one person but would be tight for two - as I was travelling alone maybe that’s why I was placed there. Two of the three window openings were on safety latches so ..."

"The building was lovely, but we were on the lower ground and there was a wall obstructing our view out of the window. The room was very basic with no colour or decoration and seemed like it was put together at the last minute. We felt because we had booked via a deal we were given the very basic. ..."
