Quayside Fishermans Cottage

"Just returned home after x1 week stay at this charming property. Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us and so we ended up staying within the ‘confines’ of the cottage much more than we had anticipated. The cottage is tardis like - looks small from the outside but is very large/comfortable inside. Everything is high end and the double bed is extremely comfortable with lovely quayside views from the bedroom. Loved and really appreciated the outside courtyard space, as living in a high rise in London with no outside space this to us was a luxury! Great location, spotlessly clean would highly recommend."

"Enjoyable stay at what is perhaps best described as a fantastic restaurant with rooms. The restaurant overlooks the water and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. However our room was landside, with only a view of Irsha Street. Although small, the room and facilities were excellent. Fresh milk in the fridge is always much appreciated by us tea drinkers."

"Upper Instow cottage is in an ideal position, right opposite the beach, two doors away from nearest pub. Got enough parking for 2 cars & the view is just perfect. The beach is dog friendly & most dog owners were responsible & would clear any mess up. The garden terrace off the lounge was perfect for sunny evenings with a glass of wine or beer, the little lower garden, albeit small was perfectly adequate. Kitchen is very small, a dishwasher would've been nice, but the only place you could put that would be the pantry. I loved our stay here"

"Fantastic location and a lovely flat. The skylights make it feel really light and airy, with fantastic sea views. It was exactly what we needed for our mini break in Devon. We also had a meal at their restaurant downstairs, the Flame Factory, which was wonderful. The staff were absolutely fantastic and so warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!"

"It was quintessentially British. Beautiful location over the estuary. Very traditional British home and garden with stunning views . The host was lovely. Everything was ready.There is two pubs at the end of the street Would recommend. Thank you Stephanie for letting us use your home for the week. The welcome bottle was such a lovely touch. Thank you"

"Very nice room with sea view, unfortunately very steep stairs to get there and as suffering mobility issues, not the best, although staff were not aware. Breakfast excellent, and evening meal for 7 highly commented on favourably, hot plates and food. Unfortunately a bout of food poisoning occurred overnight, although the source cannot be confirmed but suspected. Would recommend and stay again. Chair to be placed in room in September after renovations will be a bonus."

"Das Cottage war absolut entzückend. Alt und neu in gemütlicher Kombination, Wohnzimmer und Schlafzimmer gemütlich, gute Betten, viel Komfort. Das Bad war ein Traum! Man hat sich sehr gerne im Haus aufgehalten. Zum Kochen alles da, was man braucht, die hintere Terrasse gut zu nutzen. Die Lage in Appledore gut, um abends einen Spaziergang zu den diversen Pubs zu machen. Wir waren mit dem Fahrrad auf dem Tarker Trail unterwegs und haben in der Umgebung alles angeschaut, was für uns sehenswert war. Winziges Manko ist die derzeitige Baustelle direkt vor dem Haus, die leider auch langfristig die Aussicht auf den Fluss beeinträchtigen wird. Aber dafür kann das wunderschöne Haus ja nichts!Ach ja. Es war heiß und wir waren sehr sportlich unterwegs…für eine Woche okey, bei zwei Wochen wäre eine Waschmaschine schon toll! "
