Black Bull Cottage was perfect for our trip to Whitby.
Black Bull Cottage was perfect for our trip to Whitby. Only 10 minutes drive out and great value for money. It was very cosy and had everything we could need. The welcome hamper was appreciated with a bottle of wine, breadsticks and cookies. There was parking right outside and next door to a pub that served really nice food. It was a quiet, warm and relaxing place and the bed was very comfortable. I'd recommend for a winter break :-)

I booked this cottage at very short notice and before reading previous reviews which quite frankly after seeing them gave me cause to worry. However I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with what I found. Ok there were a few minor issues such as the curtains in one of the bedrooms hanging off and the door to the other bedroom not opening fully and the tight space around the beds and we expected more towels but other than that it was clean warm and comfortable and in the most wonderful location. A beautiful village with lovely views and walks from the door and a fabulous pub-The Black Bull- which serves excellent food. Also all the local people we met in the village and at the pub were very friendly. We all slept well in comfy beds every night including my father of 93 who was quite happy just to sit in the cosy cottage and read his books if the weather was not too good. We will definitely be back!

Would have been better if heating could be switched on in evening when needed.
Would have been better if heating could be switched on in evening when needed. The heaters was either too hot in day or early morning and cold in evening when needed
