This hotel was clean and great for a place to sleep and shower to get ready. It’s located behind the main strip of waikiki, and if you’re into the night life, it’s a great place to be. The staff were helpful and kind, especially the security guards, they were funny too. Unfortunately, there is no parking. Closest is across the street with Target ($60) a day, but we parked at the Honolulu Zoo which is $1.50 an hour (about a mile walk from the hotel). If you walk through the mall across from the hotel, you’ll hit the beach which is nice. There is no hair dryer in the room, no shampoo and conditioner, and you have to schedule with the front desk when you want the room cleaned, just FYI. All other amenities. There is a $250 security deposit which will be refunded as long as you don’t smoke or trash the room. $35 resort fee per day (included with Expedia), and you get access to beach supplies which is nice. It’s a but outdated with old equipment and bumpy pillows, but as a said— it works for a place to sleep and shower. There happened to be a blackout the last day we were here, and that was miserable, but not really the hotels fault. The AC was great! Do not recommend this place if you are not one who will want to travel around the island, as this isn’t exactly a place to stay at and relax. Great food nearby. Overall kind of average, but we didn’t mind because we were in Hawaii!! Our biggest complaint was that it was nearly impossible to get into contact with the hotel via phone.

First night arriving we had an issue in the room we were assigned, it was brought up to the front desk. The original room had to be shut down and they were wonderful in giving us a different room which turned out to be better than expected. It was our first time in Hawaii and the room upgrade made our experience on the island so much better. Thank you to the staff especially Marissa for the wonderful experience at the resort.

Cheap clean quick access to beach

I’m a local and I love this old Hawaiian vibe. It really reminded me of how Hawaiian suites used to be and feel. The staff was nice, valet parking was very nice! What we love most was the 12pm check out. It allowed us to sleep in, which we needed!

Royal Kuhio is the better places for locals who live away from Hawaii. We love it because it’s nice and accommodating. Price could be lowered, and when it’s too much for us we have no choice but to go with a lower priced property.
