Cozy 2-Person cabin in charming Parish with AC for relaxing stays

"Accommodations are spread across 3 separate buildings (bedroom, bathroom and cooking/dining area). The bedroom looks like a log cabin from the inside. Very clean with wood plank walls, nice log frame beds with new camo bedding. Heater, air conditioner, TV and WIFI. Comfortable after a long day of fishing on Salmon River. Able to park outside door. Rustic bath house is set up for one person at a time. Nice size shower which includes good hot/cold water pressure and washer/dryer, if needed. Stove, microwave, refrigerator and table are in a rustic community kitchen/dining area located inside screened in building. If you plan to cook you need to bring your own pots, pans and utensils. Gas grill is available on deck outside screened in kitchen/dining area. Host is located in another cabin and is available to answer questions or provide assistance at any time."

"The place meets minimal expectations. Primarily the room and bed were clean, which is what I needed most. The rest of the building is old (probably built in the '70's) so it shows its age in places. The hallway carpeting on the 2nd floor was pretty stained-up; could use a good shampooing. Not sure how other floors looked. Inside the room there were chips in the bathtub finish and on the floor tile, just due to being old but still usable. Ottoman had shoe stains on it. Otherwise, the room was clean so that's most important. The thing that bothered me most is the room's flooring was fake hardwood. Wasn't most pleasant to step on a cold floor in the morning. Plus I'm sure that fake hardwood doesn't help muffle noises from other rooms. No other guests were obnoxiously loud but I did wake up to my neighbor getting up/scuffling around his-or-her room at 4AM. I'm sure that noise would've been significantly less IF our rooms had carpet in them. But the fake hardwood was clean and dust-free so that's most important! Breakfast was good - scrambled eggs, sausage, muffins, cereals (I had raisin bran), apples, toast, bagles, orange/apple juice dispenser, lemon water, coffee...enough choices to get your day started. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I only contacted them for check-in, later when I couldn't remember my room number, another time when my room card quit working, and check-out; all positive interactions. In all, not the Four Seasons, but worth crashing at for a weekend."
