Lovely place,slightly disappointed to have been asked to remove my shoes before going up to my room( I have bad arthritis) secondly difficult getting in and out of the bed due to low beams either side of bed. I can’t judge on any other room. I studied the reviews before my stay stay, and people clearly love this beautiful home.

Fantastic place

This is a gem of a place, very warm and welcoming hosts, with nice extra touches such as providing a fan on a very hot day. The breakfast was feshly cooked, generous and delicious.

Fabulous!

The owners of Mayfields obviously love what they do and work extremely hard because the place is finished to an exceptional standard and maintained immaculately. They are really welcoming and friendly. And DO NOT miss out on the cooked breakfast. Spot on. I'll definitely be back if I'm in that part of the country again.

Excellent, warm, clean andfriendly place to stay.

Lovely and welcoming from the start when I arrived by the owners. The whole place was clean and tidy, guests are allowed to use cutlery, plates and microwave to prepare their own food as well as the fridge for storage. Plenty of parking and it’s situated in a nice area. I will definitely be staying there again.

Stayed overnight on business. Very friendly and accommodating hosts. The room was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. The whole property was very clean and welcoming. The breakfast was superb. I would recommend :-)

We loved our visit. Such a lovely couple and lovely rooms. Nothing was too much for them. We even got a lift to the station and picked up later on in the evening. We’re already looking at booking next year.

This is a lovely guest house. Facilities are spotless and super comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble for Lesley and Paul who are the best of hosts and are passionate about delivering the best of service and ensuring every guest enjoys their stay. I would recommend this for business or leisure for solo travellers to families.

Mayfields was perfect for my stay. Lesley is a lovely host. I didn't get chance to enjoy breakfast as I had a lie-in because the bed was so comfy and then had to rush off to work. I have rebooked so will take full advantage of the facilities during my next stay
