"We have stayed at plenty resorts, this one had some of the worst food. We were bummed that there was no room service. Not a lot of pool staff doing drink orders like we were used to. We were getting married and had checked with the staff and various things and when the time came, it was usually always some type of issue. Probably would not be back."

"The resort was updated; the restaurants were great; the activities staff, Denise and Maria, were great; very enthusiastic and friendly; the shows were entertaining. There was only one bar where many people gathered after the shows; not enough seating. My only complaint is on the day we left the resort, we hired a private driver to take us to the airport. Upon exiting the resort gate, but while still on the property, our driver was stopped by a taxi driver. He asked our driver for the 'permit,' and then said it wasn't valid because it didn't have a stamp. He wanted our driver to pay him money; apparently this is common practice as the taxi drivers lose money when outside companies are used and they expect the private companies to pay them the money lost. The taxi driver told our driver, he would be followed and then summoned another driver that was nearby to follow us. We were followed for an extended time. At one point, our driver pulled to the side of the road to talk to the person that was following us, offered him money, which he refused, as it wasn't the amount he wanted. We continued to be followed until our driver took a different route to lose the taxi driver. We felt very unsafe during this ordeal. This is something the hotel staff must be aware of and my question is, why do they allow it? Why don't they have security outside to prevent this from happening. As a result, I will not be returning to this resort."

"For being a 5 star supposed hotel They were lacking in many areas. No room service, the desserts at every restaurant were gross, there is no posters or billboards to see daily activities without having to download a app (most resorts are posted on a board in a general area of hourly activities). No shuttle service to and from airport or anywhere else around town and it’s an all inclusive. Lack of signage for areas such as spa, market, etc., the one man at the exchange was BEYOND rude while exchanging money and training a new hire grabbing money directly from her hands after struggling to count… I had more than wnougg time for her to learn and was very upset with him ordering to give her the money back to count it and learn.. on the flip side, most all the staff was amazing and bubbly and helpful, lots of pool and space for people, theme nights once a week were a blast! Hotel was always clean and housekeepers did an amazing job of that. All in all an ok trip, not sure I would go back to this resort."

"My family and I recently stayed at Hacienda Buenaventura Mexican Charm All-Inclusive Resort in Puerto Vallarta. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The resort was clean, well maintained, and had a friendly atmosphere. The pool was one of the highlights and was a great place to relax during the day. They do offer free wi-fi that works well throughout the property. The rooms were comfortable and worked well for a family vacation, although they were more practical than luxurious. The food was good, but the selection was somewhat limited compared to larger all-inclusive resorts. While there was not a huge variety, the meals we tried were flavorful and satisfying. The staff was excellent throughout our stay. Everyone was attentive, helpful, and willing to assist whenever needed. Best feature. The resort seemed to cater mostly to local Mexican guests, which gave it a more authentic feel. A couple of drawbacks were the lack of airport shuttle service and no dedicated beach area. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with great service and good value. Good for a family with kids or if you want a quiet place to relax but don't mind a basic feel."

"This was my third stay at this property which I return to because of the beach access and the incredible staff. Although the facilities are dated the location with a private beach is ideal for a get away vacation. I particularly love the club level rooms in the “newer” of the two buildings. To sit on your balcony while viewing the sunset is beautiful. You can also sleep to the sound of crashing waves. The staff is outstanding (Lisbeth, Alejandro, Nicholas and Oscar) they go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. I highly recommend the property especially the beach access."
