Great cottage, very comfortable, auto heating and cooling - it’s always 22C (solar cells and air source heat pump). Loved the shower - walk in with handset and rain shower head. I think there’s oil boiler backup for the hot water if there’s not enough solar. Only downside if you can call it that is it’s in the middle of nowhere, you have to drive to the pub. You can walk across fields to get there but we’re not young enough! By the way, we were only there 4 days and only tried the Bluebell Inn. If you only try it once you’ll want to go back!
We had a really lovely time in this beautiful home. It was spotlessly clean, modern and well equipped with underfloor heating. Footpaths straight from the door, utter peace and isolation (no traffic noise or street lights of any kind) which was much needed after living in London with a speed bump outside our house! The kingsize bed was very comfortable with modern bathrooms. Short drive to York. Highly recommend this place, especially if you are looking for solitude.

Haddocks Nook is a little bit of heaven on earth.
Haddocks Nook is a little bit of heaven on earth. Totally secluded, no traffic noise, in fact no noise at all. It is so peaceful you instantly unwind. Even in these strange Covid times it has everything that you would need. The beds and bedding are luxurious. The cottage is so spacious. The owner was very helpful and not intrusive. We had a lot of fun watching the local wildlife and I'm sure if you fished it would be even more perfect. Only point deducted for distance to local shop, but you can't have remote and amenities on your doorstep ! Visited the local shop in Tollerton and wow - not your average local shop, so much available (including stone for the driveway - haha). Book this cottage, you won't be disappointed.

Excellent accommodation.
Excellent accommodation. Appreciated the welcome package particularly as nearest shop some distance away. The holiday we had anticipated in being able to spend time together with other members of our family who rented a cottage in the York area was obviously affected by restrictions due to Covid 19 and visits to friends who live in the area were not possible. We had to tailor our holiday to take this into account but as we lived in Yorkshire for many years and my wife was born there it was disappointing. However, we couldn't fault the cottage - it was comfortable and warm and we would recommend it for a relaxing break

Had a lovely relaxing weekend at Haddocks Nook.
Had a lovely relaxing weekend at Haddocks Nook. The weather was fantastic, which helped, but the location was perfect for us - peace and quiet, surrounded by bird song. Alan and the team are very helpful and around only when you need them. One of the most comfortable beds We've ever slept in. Very sorry to leave.

Lovely cottage, great setting, nice and peaceful, lots of birds and animals and fishing as well. National Trust property's and Castle Howard are all close and well worth a visit. York park and ride is only 15/20 minutes away. The local pub / restaurant is just down the road with excellent food and local beers.
