The hotel lobby is stunning and steeped in history, giving it a charming and nostalgic ambiance. However, some features feel a bit dated; for instance, the bedroom doors have an old-fashioned design, and light from the hallway can seep into the rooms. The accommodations are comfortable and generally average. When you first arrive, there’s a slight musty smell in the hotel, but you quickly adapt to it, it’s definitely different from the standard hotel scent. Overall, it’s a unique experience with plenty of character!

For solo travelers and couples this hotel is great. Situated in the heart of Boston for tourism or games at TD Garden it can't be beat in terms of location. The room I had was perfect for one person, small but efficient in its usage of space, and gave me a great view of Charlestown. One thing to consider, this hotel DOES NOT include parking and overnight street parking is either rare, taken, or nonexistent. You will likely have to park in a nearby garage which can be a) extremely pricey (anywhere from $50-$80 per night) and can still be several blocks away. Use SpotHero or another similar parking app to make finding the parking with better rates easier, but still understand you are parking a car in the main part of Boston, it will be expensive and it will be out of pocket.
