Cova da Beira Cheap Holidays

Beware! The place is as wonderfully stylish as the pictures suggest. But it was INFESTED with ants! They were crawling over every part of the apartment, not just the kitchen - the living room, the bedrooms (they were crawling all over the duvets), and in the master bedroom especially, where they swarmed across the floor. In the master bathroom there was a rotting wood plank by the shower - you had only to step on this for dozens of ants to come boiling out. We asked to be put in a different room, but they were sold out. Instead, they purchased bug spray from the grocery store next door and told us to leave the room for 4 hours while they doused the surfaces and had house cleaning come in. This was extremely inconvenient as we were travelling with tired children. When we returned to the flat, the ants were gone, but by the next morning they were starting their slow return. We asked to be compensated and were denied. We left early. Don’t be taken in by the gorgeous pictures. This was not sanitary. Would not recommend!

It’s our second time at 138 Liberdade and we loved it. The staff is all nice and helpful, the restaurant is excellent. We’ll be back!

This was an excellent hotel stay. Very luxurious feel. A few weeks before our travels, I sustained an injury and they were able to get me into an accessible room. Staff were very accommodating. Ana at reception was friendly and helpful. Room and washroom were extremely clean. Bed was very comfortable and we slept well as the room was nice and soundproof. Unfortunately we couldn't access the museum on-site as it was closed during our 2 day stay. Close to local restaurants and Rossio square. Woul.d definitely recommend this hotel
