Room service. Bed had not been made up during the day but someone had clearly been in. Staff were lovely but appeared a bit rushed. Hotel seemed understaffed for such a busy period.

The location of Nira Caledonia is excellent, and I really wanted to love this hotel as it clearly has a lot of potential. We stayed in a Wee Room, which was perfectly fine for what we paid for. However, it was located in the attic and the stairs to reach it were extremely steep — managing four suitcases was a real challenge. It would have been helpful if, at check-in, a Wee Room on a lower or mid-floor could have been offered. Breakfast was unfortunately the main disappointment. On the first morning the chef had called in sick, so only a continental breakfast was available — this was actually very good, so no complaints there. The second morning, however, we waited nearly an hour for a cooked breakfast, while every other table was served before us. Our order was also mixed up, likely because the waitress didn’t write anything down. I received scrambled eggs instead of poached, and my partner received poached instead of scrambled. Simple steps like using a notepad and repeating the order back would easily avoid these issues. Overall, I can really see the potential here and genuinely wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it just didn’t quite deliver for us.

Lovely clean room & comfortable beds. The hotels public area is beautifully decorated & festive. Breakfast was great. Fab stay again. 😊

The Room was just exactlyas described. The staff couldn't have been better polite, accommodating and empathetic. Room service couldn't have been better. Food was delivered promptly, as promised and hot. Will definitely recommend The George to friends and family.

Staff very welcoming and room clean and comfortably. Disappointed that swimming area - sauna not working and had to pay extra to access jacuzzi ! . Also hotel bar didn't stock soutern comfort and had to leave hotel for drinks
