Costa Brava Hotel Guide - 4 star hotels in Lloret de Mar, Costa Brava

We arrived at 11:00 a.m and I had emailed and called and talked to the staff about our early arrival. I was assured our room would be ready. We paid to have a room with a balcony overlooking the ocean with one full size bed. When we arrived we were told by the lady at the front desk that our room was not ready. I said okay when will it be ready? She replied that check in is 2:00. I explained about my email and phone call and she said :"Well you talked to Expedia and they don't know the hotel rules." I told her that I had not called Expedia, I had called the hotel. I asked if the room was unoccupied and she said yes. I asked if she could have them clean our room first.We were told we would have to wait until 2:00 or we could have a room with 2 single beds now. We took that room instead but were charged the same price as for the bigger bed. In our room, one lamp was twisted sideways and falling off the wall but the room was clean. That night we used the extra blankets because it was cold. The next day they took them out of our room. When we asked about it at the front desk, there was not a positive response but rather ho-hum. The manager did come out and take care of it. The breakfast has gone way down in quality (we've stayed here before) so we ate in the bar each morning and we had lunch there one afternoon. The bar staff was fabulous and the food good. The maid service was good as well. My wife lived 27 years in Lloret so we know the culture & aren't happy.

I don't recommend their continental breakfast if you are expecting an american type breakfast buffet this is not it. The rooms where nice, housekeeping came every day. The hotel staff was really nice. Didn't visit the pool area since we where never in the hotel during the day. Ask at the hotel desk for anything going around in the area they have discounts for you and will schedule anything you like. All in all we love the hotel and the area and we didn't want to leave.

Great location. Good breakfast. Clean room. Don't forget that this is a party town so there is some noise.

Comforatble hotel, offering quality facilities such as 2 outdoor pools, entertainment every night etc. The location of the hotel is ideal as it is about 2 mins walk from the beautiful beach of Lloret. Nightclubs, a museum, local shops, restaurants and bars are also within close walking distance. But, propbably, the best aspect of the hotel service is that you can either choose to stay on a half-board or full-board basis, which is ideal for a care-free holiday as you don't need to find a place to buy your food from every time. The meals provided at the hotel are very healthy and tasty, and the hotel does offer a good selection of dishes. Overall, i would definately recommend this to anyone looking for a quality break on a budget.

VG facilities really liked the outdoor pool area, great sun trap & very comfortable loungers. We used the locked luggage room prior to check in and after check out. Very handy & hotel staff very helpful.Good indoor pool & gym. Room clean fairly spacious & decent bathroom. It had what you needed. Breakfast excellent with very wide choice. Guests mainly seemed to be over 50 this was fine by us, no late night noise. Basically the hotel offers very good value for money. Decent quality accommodation which will not break the bank hard to beat for the price IMO.

We were a bit wary after other reviews, but no problems at all, As other guests have commented, the hotel is good, but the problem is the drunken guests, fortunately, when we were there, the guests were all well behaved & sober. The only gripe I had, was the amount of "free" drinks that were being taken away by the waiters, such a shame that people are so greedy !!

I had been working in Girona nearby and extended by stay to have a long weekend on the Costa Brava. This choice of hotel and Lloret de Mar was therefore relatively random. I had a really nice stay. The hotel is relatively simple with a small bar and a smaller indoor kids play area. The dining room does buffet breakfasts and dinner (I went half board) which were of a fairly basic but acceptable quality. Similarly the room was clean but basic (an old CRT TV, for example, simple bed). However for me this was more than compensated by having a lovely pool area. There's a handy bar, the pools were kept really clean, with a nice garden area around with plenty of loungers. The main pool was long enough and deep enough for some serious swimming as well as splashing around. The hotel is located across the road from the quieter beach in Lloret, Fenals Beach. It's less commercial but beautiful and a good place to relax, with enough little restaurants and cafes to keep refreshed! The main town is about 15mins walk, around the headland or over the hill. Oddly, when I was there the hotel seemed to be filled mostly with Russians (might have been Polish) and then French.

lovely hotel with a good size swimming pools and plenty of space around pool area.we stayed in a studio room which was spacious and décor was good and clean only downside if you wanted to go to the beach you had to get a bus or taxi as it was a good distance but as we hired a car we did not have a problem would go to this hotel if I was going to this resort in the future.

The location of the hotel is very good. A couple of minutes from both the beach and bus stop. But our room was noisy because of the disco downstairs and also the rooms were little old. Good for one night and budget travellers
