"If you have a car, and have the good fortune to be traveling in the Douro Valley, this place is not to be missed. It is a bit hard to get to, but well worth the effort. Fantastic setting, beautiful rooms and amenities, and 5-star service. This is a family-run guesthouse, and Maria knows the area, the history, the products, and the hospitality business. Just a gem. I regret that I didn’t build in a day just to relax, visit one or 2 of the nearby (5 minute drive) wineries, and relax by the pool...

"This is a great place. It’s high on the hillside overlooking the vineyards. There is a beautiful view right outside the front door. I would recommend you get a room with a balcony. This is a smaller hotel that is relatively new and well kept. Parking is underground. We recommend this hotel and enjoyed our stay. "

"Very scenic, small historic vineyard property, set on terraced hillside not far from the Douro River. Staff was very nice and helpful, and prepared a wonderful breakfast. Very clean, charming room. Not walking distance to the town, but parking on site. Should be comfortable with heights, and mountain driving on a steep switchback road, but prize is the amazing view."

"My wife and I chose this location for an evening stay after driving through the Duoro valley from Marvao. It was conveniently located, easy to find, clean and the check-in and hospitality were very good. Unfortunately we arrived fairly late, the weather didn't cooperate, and we stayed on a Monday evening so many of the local attractions and restaurants were not open. We did take a long walk through Lamego and it was a pretty, albeit mostly empty town. "
