"Loved this little hotel…bus stop right out front to go into Thun but could also walk on the path if you wanted to. Super friendly and helpful owners, breakfast not huge variety but typical European. We ate in the restaurant one evening, and the food was delicious, staff terrific. No elevator if that is an issue, was not for us. "

"Always a fabulous stay at the Berchtold. Super covenient to public transportation, clean, nice rooms, great staff, and great food. If you are there at the holiday season, try to get a reservation in to the Raclette chalet as early as possible since it books up really quickly! The Berchtold is our go-to hotel any time we are in Burgdorf or the Bern region. "

"The property and room were exactly as advertised with lovely views of the castle and mountains. The staff, especially at breakfast were very attentive to the requests we had previous made regarding dietary requirements. They were friendly and informative, especially Jana. Had a lovely stay in the picturesque town of Thun. "

"Good hotel, amazing location, good breakfast spread (eggs, bacon, cheese, yoghurt, cereal, croissants, pancakes, juice). We had the family room which was on 4th floor. The only con would be that the room was really warm, even though it was cold outside. We needed to switch the AC on because it was so warm in the room. Other than that very convenient stay."

"There is uneven floor between the room and hall. My wife fell down when she walked out from the room. There was no warning sign. These was safety issue."

"You must have a phone or internet in order to check in. Very inconvenient for international travelers. There is no reception. No one physically present. Internet was an issue during the stay. On and off (mostly off) during the whole stay. Best bed ever. We had a twin and requested a change to king. It was fine immediately. The mattress topper was amazing. Excellent linen and pillows. Room was good though there were some minor finishing touches. "

"Reception asked if we wanted advice on where to eat, we declined but we only found one restaurant open as most places are closed on Mondays. Mercure has a bar but was closed. Mercure has a restaurant but was closed. The next morning we were asked if we enjoyed are stay and said yes but room was very hot. We were then told air-con will not be installed until end of 2023. Not impressed."
