It’s only con (which may be a pro to some people) is that you are literally on Dam Square. So it’s busy, very busy.

"Great hotel! We’ve stayed at Kimptons before and love the amenities — and this one in Amsterdam was no different! We didn’t eat at the restaurant but we visited the bar quite a bit for some great cocktails, and participated in the hotel happy hour one night before heading to dinner. The rooms were nice — not a ton of counter space in the bathroom or places to put products in the shower area, though. The neighborhood the hotel is in wasn’t a happening / trendy neighborhood or anything but it was convenient to get to other areas (and Centraal station!). Overall good experience at this hotel & would recommend it for your stay!"
"River view from 9th floor was fantastic and made our stay. Room a bit smaller than ideal but bed large and very comfy. Decor slightly faded but ok. Room was also very quiet and this is especially impressive as we were directly above the station."
"I loved this property, the staff went out of their way to accommodate me. My room was clean and spacious. The views from my room were amazing!! The little extra touches liked the mini Stroopwaffles everyday in a jar and also these wonderful jellied candies. I looked forward to returning every evening to those sweet offerings. Inwill definitely return again and again!!"
