After having our breakfast that on Expedia was added for £0 when booking we were handed a €25 bill. When challenging this with the breakfast staff they continually refused to let us speak to reception and they claimed not to understand English or acknowledge the shown booking from Expedia and the card machine was continually shoved under our noses aggressively. Then when attending reception and showing the receptionist and manager how Expedia says breakfast was added for £0 and a short (genuinely polite) chat we were threatened with police and the manager was shouting at me and making derogatory comments about how I am poor. None of which I rose to. Eventually I was told I would have to contact Expedia and ask for the refund of €25 but would have to pay the €25 to the hotel. They said that yes it was a mistake by Expedia but they refused responsibility as it’s not their website and their records show no breakfast included. I refused to pay €25 as the breakfast was very below standard (the cafe up the street does breakfast from €2). Begrudgingly the manager then agreed I could pay half the amount. It was incredibly unprofessional and if a manager acted like this to me after a 2 minute conversation where I was nothing but pleasant and simply trying to make my case then I would hate to see him in a real disagreement with a customer. He had to walk off in anger twice during the conversation. The whole ordeal reaked of a scam. The police never turned up, strangely enough?
