mi dispiace ma la piscina è chiusa per il cattivo tempo instabile, autunnale e freddo. la temperatura dell'acqua è scesa sotto i 20°C ed in un periodo di paure per le infezioni virali respiratorie uno shock termico potrebbe innescarle. spero ritornerà in periodi più caldi. grazie

Beautiful but that's about it
The hotel was incredibly impressive when we first arrived and easy to find and park at. The room had some lovely wooden beams and an amazing shower. However, there wasn’t a lot of space in the room. Larger people or people with mobility issues would struggle to get around it. Also, a lot of the sockets didn’t work in our room and the fridge and TV didn’t work either. We chose this hotel because of the luxury facilities described as our last three days in Sicily. We were very disappointed to find out that you had to pay for access to the hot tub and sauna though, which included the price of a massage, about 80 euros. The pool was small and there wasn’t a lot of available loungers outside. The in hotel restaurant was disappointing, however, there is another restaurant attached to the hotel which we weren’t aware of until we walked into Alcamo. The bar is not signposted and we only found out where it was on the last day, this made it seem like there was nothing available to eat or drink in the hotel outside of the set meal times. The breakfast was very limited with very little variety or description, it’s either croissants with a variety of fillings, bread or cous cous if the outside area was open. The location was good though, 20 minutes’ walk into Alcamo and about 45 minutes’ drive to Palermo.

Acceptable, and at a fair price. The hotel is both showing a bit of wear and quite a lot of the property is unfinished. Staff was everything from very enthusiastic to downright mopey. Probably wouldn't stay again.

A great base for exploring Sicily
A beautiful hotel near to a great beach, the decor is outstanding and the staff went out of there way to help, special thanks to Giulia for sorting out our minor issue very quickly. Because it is a small hotel there were times when we had the wonderful pool to ourselves for a full day which was great ( no we are not anti-social Lol) Attached to the hotel is one of the best Pizzaria/restaurants we have been in to. Would definitely go again

Overall nice stay but a car is needed
The hotel staff and hotel itself is nice, nice pool and views however the location could have been better. There are no local shops within walking distance and we had to get taxis every where. The hotel staff were very helpful and arranged a taxi within five or ten minutes but I would advise hiring a car if you visit this hotel as there isn't even a shop you can walk to as no paths or near by.

Lovely hotel!!
Our stay at Grand La Batia was really nice and we felt good there, the staff was very nice and helpful,Rosalie and Juliana at the reception were so helpful and nice and always smiling,and Antoniella who served in the restaurant was very nice too. If we ever go back there we would stay there again.

Wonderful stay without having to spend a ton of money. Giuliani and Mario working the front desk were magnificent in helping us out and recommending places to visit and restaurants. Good buffet breakfast buffet. Nice restaurant upstairs, fun pizzeria downstairs. Would definitely book this place again.

Nice stay in excelently transformed monastery.
You need a car to get here, but otherwise it is a nice place, excelent breakfast. It is a good base to discover palermo and western sicily. Would stay again definitely.

Great Home Base!
We picked this hotel as our home base to explore the Western part of Sicily. It was a good choice. Beautifully restored former convent is perfectly located: short drive to Palermo, Tripani, Erice, Zingaro park, Segesta, etc. with an easy access to the highway. The breakfast was decent, served in a nice room with fabulous sea views. Our room was small, but comfortable. The balcony was a big plus. The hotel has a great restaurant, which is written up in guide books, which was great. Unfortunately, that was also the down side: our balcony was right above the restaurant and it was VERY noisy all three nights we were there up until about 1AM. So, make sure to ask for a room as far away from the restaurant entrance as possible. Contact the hotel before you book. They may give you lower price.

We had a very comfortable stay.The service was wonderful. Regina, the front desk person was extremely helpful. The restaurant was beautiful, the food good and the service excellent. Everybody there was great. The room needed to be painted and the windows need screens. We would come again .

We had booked this Hotel on the last night of our Sicilian holiday. We had told all three Hotels that this trip was to mark our 20th Wedding Anniversary but the Royal was the only one that had taken note of the fact and placed us in a special room. We had a luxury room containing a four poster bed and luxury bathroom. The only complaint was that although we had informed the Hotel in advance that we wished to have dinner there we were told that two private functions had been booked and there was no room for us. The Receptionist did, however, arrange with the dining staff for us to be accommodated but we were stuffed outside the main dining area and the food was not that brilliant. The breakfast was not ready when we attended at 7.30 am having been told it was from 7.00 am and we brought that fact to the attention of reception on departure. All in all though this was a very enjoyable experience where the Hotel had gone the extra mile to help us celebrate our anniversary.

pretty monastry near to sights
very pretty hotel - tastefully decorated and in good location for driving to segesta and nearby coves. highly recommend a trip to the park and swimming in the lagoons there. we went in october so it wasnt too busy but can imagine that finding a spot on a busy day would be difficult. the room in the hotel was attractive but there was no bath and the shower would spray on the floor as it was wet room design but with no drainage which was a little messy. the bed was also very hard and no duvet was provided. overall though the hotel was very pleasant and the drinks and cocktails very reasonably priced. definitely one of the better hotels in the area.

We ordered a suite, when we got to the hotel there was no suite waiting for us. Instead we got room for 3 with 2 floors room. uncomfortable stairs to go to second floor, room is small both in the first and second floors. Open shower which leads to water all over. Service lady wasn't nice and although she knew we are mad, she was ignoring us. Restaurant seemed nice but the food serving was so slow... We left the day after to much better hotel. Also, location of the hotel is on a mountain village which is far from interest points. I will not recommend this hotel.

Very pleasant stay. Hotel has a superb, original decor, very helpful staff, it offers a very good food, especially dinner at a nearby restaurant (connected with hotel). There were some (small) weaknesses: the hairdryer at the hotel room didn't work, and the location of the hotel is not perfect (you should have a car to visit the neraby towns, like Castellamare del Golfo). Overall this is a very good hotel and we definitelly recommend it.

A good hotel let down by the room quality and the lack of soundproofing. The staff were first rate and tried to be as helpful as possible. Language was a minor issue as I speak only some Italian (basic tourist phrases) and not all staff spoke English but that is my problem not theirs! They are improving the pool area and have updated the TV by adding Sky. My main grumble being the quality of my "suite" which was poor with no real place to sit and relax and I was able to hear all conversations in the adjoining room. Not good when trying to sleep, even the snoring was clearly audible! I could go on. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel which serves some excellent meals at reasonable prices and well worth the visit. Which is good because there is limited options elsewhere in Alcamo.

Our stay at this hotel was very pleasant unfortunately weather was poor and hotel swimming pool was out of action. I would have loved to seen this open as hotel is better than pictures show. make sure you go the resturaunt below as well, this is run seperate to the hotel but is really nice, a proper taste of sicily

Experiencia horrible. Un viaje con mi mujer e hijo de 8 años en Agosto con 44 grados a mi llegada y el aire acondicionado de la habitación no funcionaba correctamente. Una habitacion muy basica para un hotel de 4 estrellas y el aire acondionado solo funcionaba como ventilador. Despues de 2 noches y de continuas reclamaciones conseguimos que nos cambiaran de habitación en la que funcionaba el aire acondicionado. El gerente del hotel no arreglaba nada y nos tuvo 2 noches sin dormir...lamentable! Ademas de esto los baños huelen mal y el desayuno es digno de un hotel de una estrella. En la piscina hay unas tumbonas de madera que no tienen cojin, no como aparece en las fotos del hotel, por lo que es imposible permanecer en ellas mas de 10 minutos. El peor hotel de nuestra estancia en Sicilia,el precio pagado es desorbitado respecto a lo recibido, en definitiva un engaño de hotel.

Abbiamo soggiornato per 4 notti a fine agosto. La location è veramente molto bella, trattandosi di un vecchio monastero ristrutturato, così come la piscina con vista panoramica. Check-in veloce, camere pulite e molto confortevoli. Inoltre il punto è logisticamente strategico per visitare le principali attrazioni della costa ovest, quali la riserva della zingaro, Scopello, Segesta e le isole Egadi. Dunque, sicuramente da soggiornarci nuovamente, anche per la cordialità dei gestori.

TRES DECUS POUR UN HOTEL 4 ETOILES
Le cadre est beau mais la chambre dont nous avons eu était toute petite la 202. pas de WIFI dans la chambre, lavabo bouché et la douche vraiment lamentable. Pas de rangement, une toute petite armoire dont déjà à l’intérieur un coffre et couverture donc plus de place. nous avons été obligé de laisser nos affaires dans les valises, et durant 10 jours ce n'était pas simple. Le descriptif sur booking ne reflète pas la réalité. Cher pour un hôtel 4 étoiles qui en vaut à peine 2. Je ne le recommande pas pour un long séjour.

Appena arrivati abbiamo trovato una blatta nella doccia, l’aria condizionata non funzionava, le luci andavano e venivano e c’era anche la muffa sulle pareti della doccia!!! Per non parlare degli armadi rotto senza maniglie nelle cassettiere!!!!! Ma quale 4 stelle!!!! Abbiamo pagato per un NON servizio. Semplicemente VERGOGNOSO, vacanze completamente rovinate.

Struttura rustica e caratteristica ma decisamente da ristrutturare. Tutto molto vecchio, arredamento delle camera obsoleto, frigo bar mancante di snack, nessun bicchiere, nemmeno di carta in stanza, il doccino fisso ed arrugginito, armadio piccolo e pieno di coperte e cuscini, impossibile appendere camicie o t-shirt. Colazione imbarazzante: niente macedonia, niente spremuta, un solo tipo di marmellata, un unico tipo di croissant piccolo e precotto, 2 tipologie di pane, tra cui il zona Carrè. Bella piscina ed uno spazioso bar esterno; personale molto cortese. Il tutto a 140 euro a notte? Un po’ eccessivo ..
