The most DELIGHTFUL hotel!
Casa Mae must be the loveliest hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my life! When I checked in, the ladies at the desk were so friendly and they had my bags taken right up to my room. Everyone at the hotel spoke both English and Portuguese so you can be comfortable communicating in whatever language you prefer. When I entered my room, there was a chilled bottle of wine, delicious little pastries under glass domes, multiple bottles of water and a small bouquet of flowers. My room was SO amazing! The bed was wonderfully comfortable and there was a huge soaking tub waiting for me to relax in. The hotel provided the most delightful bath crystals and scented soaps to enjoy with my entire stay. There was a little outdoor balcony with comfortable chairs to unwind outside. The room came with a speaker to enjoy a relaxing playlist to help you wind down at the end of the day. Each evening, the hotel left a refreshed bottle of water and little pastries as a treat. The restaurant had the most AMAZING and DELICIOUS breakfast that was complimentary. I can honestly say the restaurant had some of the best eggs benedict I’ve ever had, and I try eggs benedict everywhere I go! The breakfast also included fruit such as apples or persimmons sourced from their local farms which were absolutely delicious. Lastly, when I checked out of the hotel, I was given two little ceramic espresso cups that were painted a light blue inside and had Casa Mae etched on the bottom as a souvenir for my stay.

Our stay at Casa Mae was incredible. The environment was beautiful, comfortable, and serene in every way. The hotel is within walking distance to the main parts of town - which were of course, also stunning. Couldn't recommend this place enough!! Really made our stay feel luxurious, without it being too expensive.

A five star spa retreat
We spent two nights at Casa Mae for our honeymoon trip and the entire visit was lovely. The Casa Mae property is beautifully cared for. The gardens, pathways, pool (we visited in November and didn't use the pool, but it was beautiful), and of course the room were are meticulously maintained and very comfortable. The property is a gem in the tiny alleyways of old Lagos. It's not the easiest place to find, but once you have, they offer parking behind their gated property, and you're in walking distance to the center of town where you'll find shops, restaurants and the waterfront. All of the staff was lovely and helpful, the food in Orta was spa quality and delicious. Don't miss their homemade yogurt! We found our brief time in Lagos during off-season to be enchanting. We hiked, enjoyed good food, and indulged in some relaxation at Casa Mae. We highly recommend it!

Amazing Boutique Hotel Experience.
Simply one of the best boutique hotels out there. Clean, thoughtful design and materials sourced from local artisans. Amazing food from a farm-to-table restaurant with produced sourced from the small farm on property. Beautiful poolside setting next to the city wall, surrounded by trees. Fantastic service. 6 out of 5 across the board. Loved our stay (even during low season) and would HIGHLY recommend.

Incredibly beautiful property, the gardens, exterior and interior are all perfect. I wouldn’t say it’s 5 star in service or general stay. A few few hospitality could do with improving, as well as the facilités. It’s too basic in sévices and amenities to class as a 5 star. nevertheless I would stay again and would recommend.

Great, quirky hotel
Perfect honeymoon getaway. Loved the original house (Casa Mae)) and the architectural detailing of the main building. The rooms are very quirky and Fun but I am not a fan of having the shower stall in the bedroom (it could easily have been turned around and included with the toilet and washbasin to create a proper bathroom). When you go ask for a room overlooking the courtyard.

Anniversary Getaway
My wife and I spent 3 nights here and we had the best time! The rooms are minimal but perfectly decorated and furnished. The service was top notch as well. They even took the time to bring us a welcome drink and review a map of the city including beaches, shops and restaurants. The restaurant in the hotel was amazing as well. Most of the food is brought in from one of their gardens. All in all this was easily on of the best hotel experiences we have had and will be back for sure!

This is a nice hotel, but in my opinion it needs a few more things to make it a more pleasant place to stay. On the plus side, this is a quiet hotel just steps from the busy center of Lagos, with clean rooms and a beautiful setting. You can take an easy walk (10 minutes or so) to one small beach, but if you keep walking (20 minutes more) you get to some of Lagos’s most stunning beaches. Restaurants, bars, and stores are all nearby. On the negative side, the room we stayed it (a suite called Poco) was very expensive (almost $400 per night) but not very livable. There was no dresser to put stray clothing in, no closet, very dim lighting, and no decent sitting area other than the bed.There are no coffee makers in the rooms, and since breakfast is not served until 8:00 AM if you happen to wake up earlier than that and need a coffee you are really out of luck. There is no gym. Another con is the breakfast, which we paid for as part of our room rate. First of all, they don’t start serving it until 8:00, which is a long time to wait if you happen to want to get your day started. Then, when you go there at 8:00, it takes about 20 minutes to order and about another 30 minutes to get any food. Too slow. They will also provide one cup of coffee and then charge you 3.50 Euro if you want another one. And then even charged for water!

We were in one of the Cabanas and it was amazing. The room was everything we expected. The hotel itself is close to the city center. Sergio, Omar and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful during our entire stay. They made us feel like home and suggested restaurants and activities (we did surf lesson and bike tour). Cant wait to come back!
