This property is at a convenient location. Distance to shopping and dining areas are walkable and the environment is beautiful. We absolutely enjoyed a stroll in the morning. Owner was kind and offered to help us move the luggage. The room is spacious and classy. Bathroom is clean and modern. We love it.

The room we had was fine...but not the Nord room advertised and booked. We were not on the first floor but up another set of small hard to manage stairs next to a communal breakfast room . There was one chair..small windows and a 15cm step just inside the door which was extremely dangerous. The host was lovely and helped me up 2 flights of stairs with my suitcase but we struggled when leaving. Being elderly one flight of stairs as we were anticipating..as advertised for the Nord room ..would have made things a lot easier. The room we had should be called the loft...and described as such.

Wonderful location, convenient to train and everything else Amsterdam has to offer. Quiet street. You must go up a steep staircase for room on third floor, so not handicap assessable. Nice bathroom and use of kitchen and washer/dryer on third floor. Good value.

We had a really nice stay at this property. We had two rooms booked. Layouts were different however both were really large. Only issue is no elevator and the stairs are very narrow/steep, but this is probably very common in a lot of european places. Just be prepared for stairs. Also, there was early morning construction noises that started around 7am. Other than those two things, we did enjoy our trip and highly recommend staying here.

Great location and quiet. 2nd floor room was actually on the third floor, very steep staircase from the 2nd to 3rd floor, difficult to carry up 40 lb suitcases with no help. would not recommend unless you have very little luggage, picture shown is not the room we occupied This is a rented room from the owner, off the kitchen/eating area for those who take the B&B package ( we didnt)

Alex, the manager of the property, is wonderful--he had great recommendations and was very friendly and communicative. The room was gorgeous and the bed was very comfortable. There was even air conditioning, which can be rare in Amsterdam but is appreciated on those muggy summer days. We will definitely stay again! Thank you!

This is a classic brick multi-storey building in a fantastic area of Amsterdam. Check in was super simple, and our room got cleaned daily. The bed was great, the windows opened to allow plenty of fresh air. Everything is within easy walking distance, and there are restaurants on every corner. We hope to stay here again next year. If you cannot do stairs, this may not be the best place for you.

Wait outside in the rain & cold to check in
even though the property was given an hours notice of my arrival time, I still waited outside their front door in the rain and cold for them for a further hour and a half for them to show up. staff that arrived did not offer any help as i struggled with a heavy bag up incredible steep steps, nor did he speak any English. they promised refund/reduction but did not follow up/ write me after the stay

Great hotel at walking distance from downtown
It was a nice cozy hotel in the heart of Amsterdam. Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. The hotel was clean and spacious for the two of us. There were quite a few restaurants around and a supermarket was a 3 min walk. Overall, great hotel and we recommend it.

I liked the proximity. I liked the interior design of the room a lot. I did not like the ajar Private door. Kind of creepy. Wish there was bicycle loan opportunity. Alex was easy to reach at most times.

La Remise Sud Room
Beautiful guesthouse! We stayed in the Sud room which was huge and looks just like the pictures online. Alexandre was a lovely host and let us check in straight away.

La Remise was a typical town house in a nice quiet street in a good location for the museums. Our only criticism would be the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room - we were told we were welcome to use the kitchen upstairs but could find no mugs, tea bags or sugar and didn't like to rumidge in cupboards. Also a couple of handtowels in the bathroom would of been nice. Both minor details to an otherwise very enjoyable stay.

La Remise was in a great location for being able to walk everywhere around Amsterdam. Our room was spacious and had a nice rainfall shower in the room. We had a view of the street from our room. Breakfast was a small spread. They make eggs and bacon if you would like. Comfy bed. The rooms were quite noisey, you could hear everything going on in the building, which just be the norm of an older building. If you cannot do stairs, I would recommend not staying here. There are little tiny steps to get through building. I would stay here again!

Slightly disappointed unfortunately
This was booked as a treat for my partners birthday therefore I was hoping for something special and I feel my expectations were not met . The location is perfect for all the attractions Amsterdam has to offer. The booking in procedure was haphazard , and we encountered an unfortunate incident whereby we were put in the wrong room. This led to us being asked abruptly to gather our stuff and move as someone wanted to be in the room we had just unpacked in. We went to our room and found someone else’s belongings were still there, which were removed and put on the landing in their absence . There could have been greater communication at booking in to avoid this embarrassment, and an orientation to the property would have been good in the event of an emergency. We were not informed that we could have made use of the tea and coffee making facilities through the day in the communal kitchen. The rooms are as described , contemporary and comfortable, however the cleanliness was questionable. The floor was very dirty therefore shoes had to be left on at all times, and the shower was grubby. There were only two bath towels provided , no hand towels.. which isn’t ideal and the towels were damp on receipt which in turn made them smell like “wet dog” as did the bed linen . Towels would be replaced on request , but were so by damp ones in receipt . All in all, we enjoyed our stay , but I feel some fine tuning would make this quaint abode even better. For the price I expected more.

Home away from Home
After a loooong trip, I made a quick stop in Amsterdam. La Remise felt like home away from home. Located in the city center, walking distance to all. Safe home street. Cozy apartments, beautiful minimalist decorations, clean, with all the necessary for a short stay. Relax and silent... I could not tell if there were more guests. Alex, B&B owner, friendly and good cooker. Homemade breakfast (complete) so' good and fresh. Definitely, coming back on my next visit. Minor detail, steep stairs all the way to the top, but Alex help with my "heavy" luggage. Great Wi-Fi.

We stayed in the Blanche attic room and we were really disappointed. The building itself is in a beautiful part of Amsterdam and perfect for exploring the city but several things spoiled our visit. Firstly the room is adjacent to the breakfast area, which we were aware of when we booked but were unprepared for how noisy it would be. The room itself, albeit very stylish, had almost no furniture provided, just a bed, one chair and a low console table with tv and radio. Storage was in a cupboard with a hanging rail (just 4 hangers) and one small shelf for everything else which, even for our short stay, wasn’t really adequate. The bathroom is directly off the bedroom with no door to the toilet. In fact you can see the door to the room while you’re sitting on it and the breakfast table is just inches away the other side! We found this particularly disturbing, even more so when we discovered that every single sound could be heard clearly across the top floor of the building; hardly relaxing. Obviously this isn’t something that could be fixed, it’s the style of the place, but anyone considering staying here should certainly bear it in mind. Some tiny bottles of toiletries were provided but never replenished. Breakfast was served but we did not partake, although we could hear the other guests enjoying breakfast, almost as if they were sitting in our room. So considering these issues I cannot recommend the Blanche Suite, especially at the price.

Nice room if you do not have much luggage.
Very big room and bathroom that are remodelled. But, very steep stairs to climb to get to room. No elevator. So, be in great shape or have little luggage. Continental breakfast was good start to the day. Owner very slow to answer emails. But, once there, the owner is helpful with map and directions. His help did throw out my file with all my notes for the remaining trip as they were on the floor and I guess they thought it was garbage. Should have kept them to check with me first. very pricey, but that may be the entire town. Not far to walk to get to main streets. Need a lift for the luggage like ones they use for wheelchairs that can go up the bannister. Lights kept going off as you tried to walk up stairs. About a mile from museums. Between old town and museums.
