A very nice alternative to Sofitel or Four Seasons. Quiet, nice area. More of a “boutique” hotel than some of the more opulent chains. But very good. I’d stay there again. Only about $500.00 a night versus $700.00 to $1000.00 a night for something slightly better.

We loved the decor and feeling of opulence, rooms were large, high ceilings and the bed super comfortable. The bedrooms were all newly refurbished and high quality and stonework to wet areas. Breakfast was great with good range of selection. The hotel was centrally located. Felt 5 star quality value for money. Would definitely recommend this lovely historic hotel.

The hotel is in an excellent location overlooking a busy canal. The side of the hotel has covered outside dining facing an open square and large fountain. It couldn’t have been more picturesque and relaxing.

Great location and the staff was very attentive. Special shout out to the staff at Bar Americain! That’s how you make a martini. We stayed on a weekend with our room facing the front of the hotel which got very noisy late in the evening into the early morning hours.. Would definitely stay again though.
