A mixed experience
This is a small, quiet and comfortable hotel. The staff, if you can find them, are friendly. The location is very good, it’s a lovely neighbourhood with some good restaurants. My concerns are that it isn’t easy to find, and there is no obvious signage. The reception is only part-time, and I was really taken aback that it wasn’t open for a 9am checkout on my last day, which was so inconvenient. I’ve been told that British people have a reputation in the hotel trade for complaining, but I rarely do. However, this hotel needs to sort out signage, branding and customer care! They don’t even have notices telling you when to expect the reception to be open. A real mixed bag of an experience, which is a shame because the rooms are clean and comfortable. Be forewarned.

Strange hotel probably once a residence and redeveloped into hotel rooms. The hotel went by three different names: Il Golfo, Hotel Fossa, and the name listed near the door. It seemed like a scam at first but was actually legit. However, the price I paid wasn't worth what I got. I thought $148 was a lot but add another $30 for taxes. Needless to say, but never again.

Seems to be under new owners? Hotel has three different names and no way to contact any of them. Ignored emails as well. But it is a great location and hopefully these issues will be resolved soon.

We did not like the fact that there were no reception staff at the facility between 6pm and 8am. There was not even morning coffee available (2 packets of instant coffee were never replenished during our 3 night stay). There was a bar and breakfast area but no service. The daytime staff who were there were very friendly and helpful but we would not recommend this "hotel"

I stayed 4 days here and everything was spotless clean despite the fact that renovations were taking place. Jasper was friendly and accommodating. The Il Fiore Restaurant has excellent food and friendly service. Our bed was really comfortable and our bathroom was large

The room is nice, the reception personnel is friendly except the bath towels were small, no toiletries. The reception personnel not available most of the time. Renovation is ongoing so very noisy and dusty. No telephone

Food in restaurant is good and staff there were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately no breakfast or bar. Good central position but do need to walk to reach public transport Room on very top floor was difficult to access via spiral staircase. Handrails do not go all the way to the top

The air conditioning in this room was non existent. I complained and they said is would be fixed the next day. It was never fixed. I couldn’t open the windows at night because the busy bar on the corner was going until 2:30 am in the morning. The twin beds at some kind of mattress that caused one to slide off the side unless you stayed perfectly cantered on your back and the bed was too short. I got no sleep the three nights I stayed. I asked for another room but there wasn’t one. The girl that worked the day of the 21st was pleasant, sympathetic and helpful with information. My dinner in the restaurant was very good. Eat there but don’t sleep there.

When you stay here, you immediately feel like family! The staff is fantastic! Friendly, can answer any question, and give excellent directions to any place you may want to visit or eat, including how/where to get an appointment for Covid tests for travel. The on-site Italian restaruant is excellent, both inside and outdoor dining. Our room was immaculate and exactly as described. You cannot go wrong with this establishment. If Hotel II Fiore is fully booked when I want to visit Amsterdam, I will change my travel date until a room here is available.

Quaint, friendly, accommodating
The staff was friendly and quick to answer questions, I loved having a restaurant below, it made food options easy - be sure to make reservations early. The hotel is a short walk from some historical places and beautiful photogenic scenes. Everything in Europe is small, it’s not just this hotel - as long as you accept this, it’s a comfortable stay.

It’s in a residential neighborhood safe with plenty of food and dining options The only thing slightly difficult was that I was a single traveler and the elevator goes to the 4 th floor only so if you are on the fifth floor with a big suitcase it’s a bit difficult coming to the trim with it and leaving the room with it

This little boutique hotel is run simultaneously with the Italian restaurant of the same name (which we didn’t dine at). It’s one of the very few central Amsterdam hotels with an elevator, most in the area only have steep and/or narrow stairs. The room was modern and large by Amsterdam standards, extremely quiet. There’s no one at the front desk when the restaurant is closed is the only drawback.

What a great hotel , very clean room and bathroom.staff was so nice and kind and a balcony surprised was awesome. The restaurant serve some delicious food!!! Highly Recommended Hotel!

Loved this place, super cute and clean. However since I stayed on the roof( small room) it is hard to carry luggage up those stairs. If staying there I would pack light.

the hotel itself was fine , but the manager that day behaved absolutely horrible.Already when I. checked in he was rude . After a walk I planned to eat at their restaurant .I received a call and the Mng did not like that at all and wanted me to use my own phone , I tried to make it short , but instead started to cough . He yelled go to your room , in a voice one would not use for a dog . Than I heard him call oug to the women in the Restaurant and realized, that he was just a nasty man.Next day a dutch woman at the desk heard my complaint and confirmed what I had concluded a turkish man who did not like single traveling women .All my life I traveled alone and felt always safe , but narrow minded people have to. change.We all have to live , work together , do not hinder .He wants to keep women as hidden slaves . grow up

Dear Maria, sorry to hear there has been some miss communication during your stay. The manager who checked you in works here for 20 years and especially with woman traveling alone we are always helpful, he brought your suitcase to your room and offered you and your friends a drink. About the coughing incident you had a very heavy cough attack in the area of the restaurant which was full with guests. And since the Covid 19 restrictions when somebody has a cold and is coughing is it recommended to stay home. So that’s why the staff asked you to have a glass of water and go outside to have some fresh air. And we were hoping you would feel better after having a little rest. We hope you understand the situation.

A great stay !
Great hotel to stay for a few nights. So close to the center by bike or walk. No need to drive. Staff were very helpful to provide tourist information. Located in a quiet residential area. On Saturdays, they open up large markets selling local products. Accomadated us 100%! A must place to stay to enjoy the comforts of Amsterdam!

Super friendly staff. They had recently gotten COVID tested to ensure safety for guests. They upgraded me to one of their nicest rooms. They even respected my request not to have any cleaning staff come for room servicing to minimize my exposure to people.
