I booked a "superior room". All of the room photos in this category were considerably larger than the one I was assigned. Mine felt very claustrophobic and was very dimly lit.

Room was very small. Very loud in the mornings, hoover could be heard clearly in the other rooms. Loud banging on one of the mornings at 9:30am which continued for quite some time.

Stayed in the loft room and standard double. Both of equal high standard of cleanliness, bed comfiness and great rainfall shower. The loft room had tea and coffee facilities but the standard double did not as no space or self catering facilities. This a high standard 3 star and better value than many 4 and 5 star hotels in Amsterdam. Close to de pijp for eating and drinking, walkable to the museum quarter and the tram stop opposite to get anywhere else. As is common in Amsterdam, there are a lot of steep stairs.

Great location but will not be returning. The first room I was checked into was the size of a shoe box. Also found more than 3 bugs in less than 3 minutes. The front desk told me it’s normal to have spiders because of the canals.I was so upset because I specifically decided to pay more for a hotel to not have these issues. Regardless due to their cancellation policy we had no choice but to stay. They gave us a different room which was decent. But no a/c and tiny beds to keep this in mind when booking.

I was personally spoken with you about it. When you cam back to the reception i directly apologize and moved you to another room which ou was happy with. Also explained to you that because of the hot summer and that we are surrounded by water and gardens, its common problem in Amsterdam. Never has been said that its normal. You even spoke with me about later and you laugh on it. With regards to the room size, all our room sizes are always mentioned during the booking process. Convenient location.
Nice location just on the edge of the centre - easy to bike or walk everywhere. Nice big breakfast and a convenient bar. On a busy street but double windows kept things quiet and offered fresh air and street views during the day. Recommend you don't come by car unless you don't mind paying huge parking fees! Public transportation is well organized, Ubers always available and the hotel rents comfortable bikes.

This hotel is stylish and we enjoyed the neighborhood - a bit off the beaten path and a little quieter. There is a cool coffee cafe across the street called Public School that we really enjoyed. It's a really lovely walk to anything you're going to want to go see. HOWEVER, there seems to be a wide range of rooms, so be very careful when booking and when you check in. I had paid more and reserved a Superior room when I booked, but the room they assigned me was absolutely nothing like the pictures. It was sad, shabby, small and up four flights of stairs (no elevator). If I was only there for a few nights I probably would not have bothered but I was there for 9 days. The front desk guy was initially unsympathetic. I pulled up the Expedia website, showed my booking details and the room photos for the room type I booked and he agreed to move me. After I switched rooms and went back down to the front desk to return the first room key, there was a couple in front of me had the exact same issue and were also switching rooms. The room I got moved to was nice, but it was also very noisy being right by the stairs and the first room in the hallway. I wasn't about to ask to switch again, so I ran a white noise soundtrack pretty loudly all night! If you can, try to get one of the rooms in back in the garden area. Regardless be wary of what you book versus what you get! I wouldn't stay here again unless I communicated directly with the hotel and got confirmation on what room I was getting.

Staff super helpful and friendly. Really great location. Room generally a bit worn and bad drain smell in the bathroom. Also the shower only had a very small screen on one side so with every shower the bathroom room became saturated with water.

Very small room
We got put in such a small room (can’t have been the size we had seen advertised) and it didn’t even have enough floor or anywhere to store 2 suitcases (and was up 2 flights of really steep stairs). We asked to change rooms and gratefully got a slightly larger one with a smaller bed but as it was by the stairs, it was quite loud anytime anyone came in. Did try to upgrade to a larger room at the time but they were sold out. They did give us some drinks vouchers though. Nice service, clean and tidy and nice decor, just the smallest hotel room I’ve been in.

A lovely place to stay! €100 deposit had it straight back! Lovely coffee for when you wake up! A wicked market just behind the hotel! The tram stop to get to the town centre is right outside hotel doorstep so no walking if you don’t want to! Perfect location, highly recommend!!! 10/10 from Cardiff, Wales!
