"We loved the ambience of this place. Driving in at night was whimsical with mushroom lights guiding the way. The room was artsy and fun. Breakfast was picture-worthy and the hosts were friendly and knowledgeable. This felt like a great starting point for our Costa Rica trip with a more authentic feel."

"The accommodations were both clean and spacious. However, the exceptional service provided by the reception and administrative staff truly stood out. I have a medical condition that necessitates traveling with refrigerated medication, and I inadvertently overlooked the absence of a shared kitchen facility. "Lovely hotel with amazing pools including multiple warm/hot spring pools & a great pool bar, along with cooler pools with slides. Breakfast is a buffet with plenty of selection including continental and local options. Eggs made freshly to your requirements. Lunch and evening food is acceptable. We felt the food & drinks prices across the hotel were a little expensive. Rooms were excellent; I noted some reviews suggest dated rooms. I think it depends where you stay. We had a deluxe room which was very spacious modern and had a lovely balcony. It appeared the more expensive rooms are higher up the complex with better views. Our room was towards the top of the steep hill. A free shuttle operated always and dropped you at your room. I walked once which wasn’t too far, but with kids it was easier to get the shuttle. I would recommend the hotel; I feel it is a sweet spot between lesser options and the top end premium hotels which I doubt offer much more for a significantly higher premium. View of Arenal Volcano was exceptional from the hotel (if you are lucky enough to see it without cloud cover!)"
"We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Lost Iguana Resort. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful, especially Charlie who was our bellman. The breakfast buffet was incredible, a standout for sure. Staff in the restaurant were great, too. Our kids liked the pools, though the lower pool was very cold, too cold for me to enjoy. The hot upper pool was nice and hot! Our room was clean and the high ceilings made it feel bigger than it was. Our patio was very private and peaceful. We saw glimpses of the volcano from our patio, but only once saw it in full during our 5 night stay in July. The umbrellas provided by the hotel were clutch, definitely needed! They are numbered according to your room number. Unfortunately someone else took ours from the restaurant one night, but the staff brought them back to our room without us even requesting. I would’ve liked to use the gym in the morning, but it didn’t open until 10am - too late, we were already on to our adventures then. Our family really enjoyed the Puma Trek as well. It was a great length and we never saw anyone else on the trail!
The location was a little farther from the main area, and my daughter got carsick on the windy roads. We generally prefer more secluded places, but next time we might opt for something closer to more restaurants."
"One of the most beautiful places I've ever visited, truly magical.
The room was modern, spotless, and incredibly well thought out. Most rooms have their own private patio, which was perfect for unwinding after a long day and just taking in the surroundings.
One thing that really stood out was all the complimentary activities the hotel offers. You have the daily wildlife tour and the night animal tour, both of which were fantastic. There are plenty of other great activities as well.
The hot springs are something else entirely — beautifully designed and unlike anything I've experienced before. I also loved that there was a cooler pool right next to them, complete with a slide for the kids.
I had an amazing time here and genuinely hope to come back someday. Don't miss this one out!"
"We enjoyed our stay in the Magic Mountain hotel, everything was amazing, the staff, the pool, the breakfast, the location and the cleanness. Thank you for everything"
Simply the best, incredible views, pool, breakfast and a friend in the area!
10/10 Excellent
"We had an amazing time here! The property is beautiful, breakfasts are delicious, and Patrick goes above and beyond to make sure you have all you need. Our family of 9 had plenty of space and will definitely stay here again."
"This property was an absolute dream. The room was beautiful and the private hot tub was amazing.
We had a wonderful time, and the staff was extremely helpful to book all of our excursions and to help us purchase tickets."
