"Multi story hotel, well maintained, with large comfortable rooms and everything a traveler needs. Well appointed exercise room and laundry were appreciated. Morning breakfast was spacious unlike so many hotels whose offerings are after-thoughts. The hotel is relatively remote, requiring a 10-13 mile drive for a choice of resturants or activities--probably a negative for entitled types. A large truck fuel stop sits close to the front of the hotel--the wise traveler would be wise to ask for accommodations on the back side of the hotel. Will stay here again."

"Free Parking is actually street parking, although there were adequate spots it was not something provided by the hotel. Got into our room and first thing my wife said was the a/c unit was extremely noisy that would make it hard to sleep. I spoke to the hotel representative (only one on site) and she put us in another room and the a/c unit in that one was fine. Several booking sites, including Hotel DeFuniak's own webpage indicates there is a free breakfast with the room. In fairness the hotel website calls it a Continental Breakfast, but there was none of that or any food for that matter. In fact, when we were in the lobby area there was no one from the hotel even around and the bar/restaurant areas were locked. Also, it would have been nice to have a page or two in the room explaining the hotel amenities, how to work the tv controls (there were two and you had to use both to get the tv to work), breakfast, etc. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel. It is quaint, but not a good value overall."

"I’ve stayed in this hotel a few times every time was good until now. This time was horrible. Wasted a lot of money because they would not refund and we didn’t even stay, found somewhere else. I had 2 rooms, out of the first 2 rooms both rooms had stains on the bedding and cigarette burn holes in the sheets, the sink was constantly running in one room, the bath tub was running in the other which was hot water and the bathroom was humid the tub was moldy from the constant running hot water, the front of the AC was broke in one room and no toilet paper in one room and very rusty lamps. Complained, host said this was normal. Normal, are you kidding. Showed him pictures of the room, he gave us another room. This room was no better. Stains on the bedding, couple blood spots on the bathroom door, and the toilet was messed up in this room. I had my grandkids and this is not a clean environment for kids. I have pictures and I will contacting there cooperate office and the BBB. I would ask to look at your room before paying. I would not prebook this hotel. Pictures do not show how filthy I think it was."
