The Tarbet hotel was our favorite stay of our 9 day trip to Scotland. The historic building on the shores of loch Lomond was peaceful and serene. The staff was great and even upgraded our room for free which was a real treat. The restaurant and drinks were good as well. The real show stopper is the view of the loch and the location.

Room was large and pleasant. The food was on the salty side but ok. Breakfast was understaffed but the staff present were lovely, just not enough to keep the buffet supplied well or clean the tables. Think the hotel a solid option for the area and reasonably priced.

Fantastic hotel perfectly site on the banks of Loch Lomond. The staff were friendly and efficient. Our room was well appointed and was extremely clean. The food was excellent. The Tarbet Hotel is a wonderful place to stay.

We had a lovely short stay! The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, which made all the difference. The hotel is also very dog-friendly — our dog felt just as at home as we did. Would definitely stay again!

I love an older hotel for its architectural charm and this was it! Very friendly and hard working employees. Has an elevator. Good food at dinner. Since it’s older and a refurbishment I wasn’t surpised by some musty smell in hallways (not room) or smallish shower

What a wonderful hotel! It was nice and clean, the rooms were a great size, everyone was so friendly and helpful, the dinner was delicious and right next to the beautiful lock! I really recommend this place, a great experience had by myself, my wife and our two dogs.

Lovely hotel but not good for solo travellers

As a solo traveller, I found my single room to be drab and uninteresting. The shower was useless and certainly not good enough to wash my hair. After a brilliant trip to the North West Highlands, I needed a stop-over to reduce my driving time, but didn't enjoy the stay at all.
