"Excellent hotel. Nice breakfast, and clean, well appointed rooms (although small) Only disappointment was that the description includes parking, however, there are only four or five spots for the entire hotel"

"Pet friendly and the friendly guy behind the bar, and lovely view from room , and comfy bed were really the only positives from our stay. Not allowed to check in until 3pm on the dot. Poor decor throughout, except in bar area. Rooms very dated and in dire need of restoration. Ceiling wallpaper hanging off. Lots of cracked tiles in bathroom. Cracked shower tray. Dead insects found in bathroom. "

"I had a twin en-suite. Which I’m grateful for. En suite was well appointed, appears recently refurbished and clean. Room also was nice. Check in routine is odd. Don’t bother turning up short while before the allotted check in time. You will just be corralled and kept in the bar - where strangely you have to check in, instead of the hotel itself - until 3pm check in. Which is really awakeard if you have large bulky luggage. I saw a number of other confirmed or prospective guests visibly annoyed about lack of [getting] service up in the hotel reception area. And you’ll likely feel obliged to buy a drink or two. Also, don’t believe if you are told you won’t hear the music from the basement bar because “rooms aren’t directly over the bar”. You will. Until 1am, most nights. (For reference I was room 3, lowest one on stairwell). But Staff are friendly and helpful enough though which is always nice. And Oban as a location always helps offset these accommodation oddities to some degree. "

"Ideal one night stopover for ferry from Oban. On the pier with patking at the railway station. Room is small but had everything we needed. Shops and restaurants nearby."

"This quirky hotel is a gem in Oban. Very comfortable room once we learned how to work shower and heaters. The room was a good size with king bed. Breakfast was hearty and the coffee and brown bread were delicious. Easy to walk to shops and restaurants - we had a friend with a mobility scooter and no troubles in the hotel or town. Really nice place to come visit. Stephanie at front desk super helpful!"
